- Argyle announced their return to the second tier with a display that mirrored the home dominance so crucial in securing promotion from Sky Bet League One last season.
Morgan Whittaker bundled in an early opener for the Greens but they then had to recover from conceding an equaliser to Michal Helik on the stroke of half-time.
The game was won in the space of three second-half minutes. Bali Mumba weaved his way to a fabulous goal on 74 minutes and he was backed up by a Ryan Hardie to condemn former boss Neil Warnock to an opening-day defeat.

Taking into consideration Neil Warnock and the impressive end to last season Huddersfield had, this was a great result for Plymouth. Long season ahead, but a great start.
tons of respect to plymouth from a fulham fan. i can feel the energy in the crowd and the team looks so fun to watch. the gasp and the the yea of the 3rd goal gives me chills. wish you lot the best of luck this season

What a game. The weather didn’t help but as soon as the sun started shining so did we. Mumba pure class and Hardie slotted home for the 3rd. Hope we carry on the momentum over the next few weeks.

Was getting worried at half time as we paid the price for a defensive error but thankfully we showed our quality in the second half once again! That Bali goal was reminiscent of John Barnes at the Maracana against Brazil. Great way to introduce ourselves back to the championship, though as we know it isn't going to be easy. The "new signings" all look quality, Bali and Morgs will live up to their price tags im sure. COYG
Celtic fan watching to see how Conor Hazard got on. Done ok but not sure what he was trying with the ball at his feet.

Someone with tech expertise needs to rip a repeating loop of the Mumba goal. Goal of the season already in the bag.
I always rated Mumba but Norwich manager David Wagner stated he wanted him as a defender. He has so much pace up front .Like Chris Sutton who was once a defender but became a very successful forward. Shame the Norwich manager didn't see Mumbas potential up front. A million to sell Mumba was the worst piece of football transfer I've ever witnessed.
Selling for just £1m was crazy. Something fishy there.

I want to buy some away tickets for argyle do I need an evergreen membership to buy? It’s a bit confusing on the website as it says I don’t have access to away tickets. I am a Plymouth fan but I’m not from Plymouth and have only ever been to home games when visiting family.

Season tickets with loyalty points get the priority before general sale
Session tickets get loyalty points so they get priority and if there any left then I gose on sale to the public
An evergreen membership will give you priority over general sale but it's not a guarantee. You'll probably have no chance for local (to us) games like Bristol City but maybe a fair chance the further up north we play, the evening fixture at Sheffield Wednesday for instance.

Defence played well tbh, plenty of blocked crosses and good tackles. Goal we conceded was unlucky with the ricochet of the post
New keeper and new defence so bound to be a few mistakes early doors but they done ok for a 1st serious game together.

yes but he only agreed to come back from Villa three days ago, need time to settle back in
He was training with Villa's under 21s so need to get his fitness levels up. He'll probably get more minutes midweek in the cup.
