That's the peril and evil of social media: it pushes us to say things that will get a REACTION, rather than saying what we want to say. I for one got a lot out of your detailed tutorial stuff.
There's probably a fine line between quality content and anything for views. There's nothing wrong with trying to improve your teaching skills or oratory skills to send out your message, or perhaps the purpose of the content is just to make content because you find it fun.
@@dugglebay3483 That's the pitfall of marketing. When you're just trying to see what sticks and do whatever gets the biggest reaction, you end up doing what's popular, not what you actually want to do. Hearing all of this is crazy. I don't have TikTok so I never heard or saw any part of this. I thought you were just working on different cool projects like the NeoPets thing that looked super cool. Its wild to hear this whole other side. haha

from one Ben to another. Been following this journey for the past 2-3 years since I started my CS major in college I love every moment of this good work brother!
I gotta agree with you on this one. When you do things that are aside from your main focus and make those side things your main focus, in all honesty, it's better to leave it all in the dirt. I remember seeing you on TikTok and then RUclips and it was obviously at first that you wanted to teach coding to people. And sometimes when wanting to branch out, it can be great and creative, but when it takes away from your main focus, then that's when you gotta drop it. As someone who follows you on TikTok, I'm honestly glad you left to get some fresh air and it's your choice on whether you wanna come back or not. I'll follow you on RUclips since I could learn some coding as well (Java specifically) lol. But either way, have fun and focus on what you can stick with the most.
Ben you are amazing, thank you for this. You inspired me to create Augmented Reality tutorials, while I am learning myself. Hope to see more content from you soon. Stay blessed!

what I loved most was the mixture of good quality content where I can learn something and the fun trolly opinions. It kinda started shifting towards pure trolling where it lost a lot of entertainment value. Like just look at fireships channel at what kind of audience you could reach. A lot of people think you need to do one OR the other as if it's something binary. Even if those lower effort vids were generating more views it was the good ratio to educational content that made it valuable in the first place

Your videos on authentication and library/framework reviews really helped me. Unfortunately that type of content won’t make much money on social media, but you could definitely monetize it on your own platform.
I think the second video I saw from you was GraohQL crash course and that was the most enjoyable content for me. I'm looking forward to see more tutorial content ;)
