Doesn't get much better than this, but I'm partial as this is truly "my music"...Graduated from high school in 1973, the same year this album came out. It blew everyone out of the water...
The album cover in the back is just massive respect, man. This album changed the world for a lot of people, and that cover was the symbol. Probably the most famous cover in history. BTW, awesome job on the recording. Don't mind the sibilance comments, lots of folks tried to down the Floyd on that one. Haters. Like Roger said they "probably need to get their ears checked."
This album is such a great album especially whilst on a wild trip. The best way to experience this album is to listen to it all the way through. The album has really helped me in difficult times. I lost my father on the 10th January of this year and he was a massive Roger Waters/Pink Floyd fan. Pink Floyd did an awesome job on the mastering and production of this album. Fuck what haters think of this album like Roger once said "They need to get their ears checked." People for years tried to cancel Roger over the character he portrayed for The Wall album. However, Roger has been protraying the character for years since The Wall was created... Pink Floyd's legacy will live on for many years to come. Thank you for everything Roger Waters and Pink Floyd... :)
Exist a very nice remastered version. Excuse me for my english, i'm french! But the sound was the sound was beautiful especially for the time and the mix also
I love both these songs however I prefer great gig in the sky it's such a powerful and just emotional song it's an incredible experience every time I listen to it
Tone is great but I did notice the sibilance issue as well with the high hats and the “s”. No biggie I guess, just have to ignore it. Which preamp is that?
I'm aware of the sibilance issue, I even changed the stylus, I though this one used in this video was worn out..but I don't hear much difference.. I tried different balance setups of tone arm, more tracking weight..with just little effect.. the preamp is Pro-Ject phono box MkII (complete setup is in description)
mirhaba - Vlastimil Vojáček já su fotograf Then the only remaining factor is the pressing its self, I guess? Also, just curious to know what role the Sony Vegas software plays in editing? I use a Mac, so wouldn't have access to that anyway
I agree that sibilance is certainly noticeable in this record, but it may be caused by the record itself (not necessarily an improper tonearm setup). Anyway, I think you get a terrific sound from your vinyl rips. What cartridge and phono preamp do you use?
CASSETTES?That's nice but unless you either use DOLBY B OR C then it has what I call tape hiss and if you use DBX its a hell of a lot better and the hiss is almost gone from it.
Holy shit I watched this on acid last night and what a fucking trip I had I don't remember exactly what the trip was but I remember my friend pulling this up for me right as I started to peak and oh my it was beautiful.
The only reason I dropped acid the 7 times I did was to listen to DSOTM, The Wall, Wish You Were Here, Revolver, The White Album, Sgt Pepper and I wanted to listen to Kasabian by Kasabian but I was too far gone to listen to anything the last time. Which is why it was the last
if it's the 30th Anniversary it could be the record itself, mine too has a sibilance problem. I am sure it's not an alignment problem because I also have a SMAS 111163 copy and the MFSL 1st Issue, both of those sound great amazing.
Although the album as a whole is a concept, these two tracks should always be listened to together. Life and death in two album tracks, total genius
one of my favorite pink Floyd songs .....I listen to it often .....but definitely every year on my birthday..
Hello darkness my old friend...
ME TOO...

mirhaba Is this the 2011 remaster??
The alarms at the start sound less vibrant, less loud on this? Infact the whole thing sounds different imo.
Muchas gracias a mi amigo el Mollejas que me dejó esa rolita en una peda

It might be something to do with the cartridge or the pressing that he has. I don't have any sibilance at all with my copy.
If you want to listen to this album in an interesting way try listening to the cassette rip I made, it's right in my channel!

Careful with that head.

Pink floyd makes drugs better
no words....you heard the rest...
Is your stylus well adjusted? I hear something whrong with the S's.
+Julio cezar Silva What do you mean exactly? I adjusted stylus and tonearm according to pro-ject's manual..
+mirhaba - Vlastimil Vojáček já su fotograf he means that the sound is very hissy, it may be an alignment problem. Is this the new re-issue?
if it's the 30th Anniversary it could be the record itself, mine too has a sibilance problem. I am sure it's not an alignment problem because I also have a SMAS 111163 copy and the MFSL 1st Issue, both of those sound great amazing.
