    If you want to clear an area around your mines easily and quickly then just make your ship into a bulldozer. Make a HUGE armor plate that is twice as wide and twice as tall as your ship and put a stabilizer behind it to reinforce it. Make sure it's a good 4 blocks thick. Then just RAM the asteroids with your ship and if you get some damage who cares because it's cheap to fix iron armor. The bigger and heavier your ship the better. Just move at a nice slow pace and you probably wont even take any damage.
    Sometimes you might need to add some extra energy generation and engines to help move the mass you have added but it's not big deal. Just add them anywhere on the outside of your ship other than the front bull dozer blade and cover it with some rocks or armor. When your done then just delete them off your ship and get your resources back.
    For FUN you can use this method to sling shot HUGE asteroids into nearby factories by other factions and enjoy the crumple effect. You take no faction hit from this since you don't own the asteroid you hurtled at them =P MWA HAHAHA!!!

    I’m still confused with a few things my mines do or don’t do:
    - even if buy and request is off, the mine still ‘buys’ / gets goods from orher faction traders. For free, I don’t pay for it. The mine does consume the goods but does not need them to run. I find this really weird en unintuitive. Kinda cheaty too. *cough trading posts cough *
    - ye, mines clear asteroids. But the cargo hauler pathfinding still hates asteroid fields and will get stuck. They go like 1m/s untill you remove some asteroids.
    - I’m still not sure if it matters to build a mine in sectors with factories that actually use the products you mine. Got some stations and mines in far off sectors that work just fine. There seems to be no real trade going on in the universe. Just spawned in cargo haulers.

    • @shrikegaming9765
      @shrikegaming9765  5 лет назад +3

      I thought the same thing about the free stuff...lol. I have a trading post that buys 12000 body armor and I would pick it up and sell it. However I noticed that after that, my income would drop until the free stuff was filled back up. You might be right that it really is totally free, but it's a happened a few times now and I don't know why, other than stations are actually buying the stuff. I might have to try a little experiment and find. Thanks for pointing that out, though.
      I am going to do a video on that asteroid field problem. I have been lucky so far, NPC have had no problem docking with my mines. However the still get stuck getting to the mine. A force turret video and good old fashioned blasting asteroid video is coming up.
      Sorry, I think I kinda didnt explain myself really well there. I put the mines in friendly or close to factories that use the minerals if I am transporting them myself. Not relying on NPC to do it. You are right that you dont need to be close to anything.

    • @SidMajors

      Shrike Gaming
      I encountered the same thing last night, while playing with my buddy. Was watching our money. Lost 26m once, 500k the other time, etc. Unfortunatly we made everything as alliance ships, so you cannot see what is happening in the economy chat window. Gonna go through all our stations tonight, turn off buy/request everywhere, and see what happens.
      In this game we built our own empire in empty sectos. Next to friends though.
      - it seems only 1 of 3 surrounding allies is trading with us. The closest one.
      - although they do buy my energy cells. Im constantly saturated. While in my single player game, I made mines inside faction sectors. Those are never saturated.
      How do you transport your goods out of your sectors then? Automated or ‘by hand’?
      Recently started to experiment with 1 freighter picking up and delivering multiple kinds of goods (to and from my own stations). It’s not going well :p not how I want it, rather.

    being friendly with different factions, does that lead to different types of gear you could buy and otherwise could not get?
    couple of suggestions for the game developers
    1) developing systems, if you build a mine at the outer rims of the galaxy where the need of them is low in the beginning, as they offer materials, the systems where it is in or surrounding the minesystem should develop itself. Quite like it is handled within the X series. That way they are longterm projects and do get better on the return on investment over time
    2) i heared that in multiplayer the system is not quite stable yet. Why not make the ticks higher of the mines and similar stuff which does not need immediate attention all the time. Every minute is defenitly still more then enough for mines. So instead of every 15 seconds f.e. 100 mineral production, every minute 400. Even every 5 minute should be fine as most gamesessions take longer anyways and in muliplayer settings they could still produce when the owner is offline. Equally weapon fire rates could be reduced and damage per shot incresaed. All hail the network performance.

  • @17qwer86
    @17qwer86 5 лет назад +1

    I did just like in the video (but before I find it), remove check on the "buy from others", but freighters just dump for free on my mine acid, medical components, mining robots etc, and more to it, they do not buy from mine gold and platinum. I try to reload my save, invert the settings in the mine, it's all not helping. I guess I have a bug at least for free staff that those ships just leave me without taking anything for it.

    My only issue is the micro management. You can't really have miner ships without babysitting them, and then having to manually click out all the trade routes.... Crap. I have 6 mines that I abandoned because no NPC's would go there to buy anything, even at Max -% base.
