I don't understand where to levels your vocals or beat or how loud should I record or how loud should my beat be. I seen your summrs video and the vocals was up to 3dbs so I'm confused because the beat wasn't playing, and I don't know how loud the beat were or did he record it that loud.
When it comes to leveling your vocals and beat, it's important to find the right balance between the two elements to create a cohesive and enjoyable listening experience for your audience. However, determining the appropriate levels for your mix can be challenging, especially if you're new to music production. To start, you can aim to level your vocals so they are prominent in the mix without overpowering the other elements. As a general guideline, you can try leveling your vocals to be about 3-6 dB louder than the rest of the instruments in the mix. This will help ensure that your lyrics and melody are clearly heard and understood by your listeners. Similarly, the beat or instrumental track should be loud enough to provide a solid foundation for the vocals, but not so loud that it drowns out the vocals or other elements in the mix. As a general rule, you can aim to level the beat so that it's about 6-9 dB lower than the vocals. When it comes to recording, it's important to record at a level that's not too low or too high. Recording at a level that's too low can result in a weak signal that's difficult to work with during mixing, while recording at a level that's too high can result in distortion and clipping. A good starting point is to aim to record at a level that peaks around -6 dB or -12 dB. Regarding the Summrs video you mentioned, it's difficult to determine the exact levels of the vocals and beat without more information. However, it's likely that the levels were adjusted during mixing to achieve the desired balance between the vocals and beat. The 3 dB level you mentioned may have been the final level that was achieved during mixing, rather than the level at which the vocals were recorded.
