Man I could listen to Jordi for hours! I really wish more manufacturers did what Fox does and have a crew that asks questions and posts videos. As a long time watcher of SBK, MotoGP, etc the tech stuff is really what I love to hear about and get insight into how it works.

There ain’t a lot of people I admire these days but Jordi is one of them. A genuinely interesting person👌

It’ll be interesting to see how they implement it but if fox continues to try to go the route they’ve typically used of staying locked out until hitting a bump (like their terralogic or live valve) then I don’t think it’ll be as good. There’s just no valve fast enough to fool your brain into thinking it’s smooth when the initial hit it locked out. SRAMs concept of having the shocks default open and integrating into the cranks to sense pedal motions and sprinting seems the best way forward to me. It does sound like fox is going that way as he says without the electronics it still works like a good shock, so how they’re determining to close off compression will be interesting.

Fox's Dialed YT series is so good.

Instead of every gadget having its own battery make it that all use the main battery, I'm talking about Ebikes. So derailleur, dropper post, shifter all connected to and use the same/main battery.

i imagine it's hard to make a shock that is light, reliable and electronically driven. on ebikes the weight is less of an issue.
even drivetrains have this issue. sure electronic shifting works well, but you still have to charge all the time and the mechanical stuff is just as good these days. who has a friend who doesn't bring a spare battery on axs? everyone buy the reverb just for that feature lol. my friends with axs all run out of derailleur battery every 3rd ride and swap. i readjust my cable every year if that.
somehow by making mechanical so good they've limited themselves for the electronic stuff, at least on mountain bikes. (road mechanical shifting still kinda sucks)

Ha I think he meant that in response to his previous statement. "I know people are worried about batteries, I get it, unfortunately Ebikes are a big part of the market" as in, people who are worried about that don't really have a choice as it's moving in that direction.

More like "we dug ourselves into a hole with the dog shit design of the FloatX2 and didn't want to waste our time on a shock that can't stay together and full of oil for more than 2 rides".

Fox is making good money off the factory service of the x2. Since most shops don't have the special tools required. Dumped my x2 right away.

Will the new shocks have cavitation within the first year of use like every fox shock I have owned? Dumped IFP design for bladder system like DVO. No more cavitation.

Like if regular mountain bikes didnt have enough problems already with frames cracking all the time, suspension giving issues, the big wheels not being strong enough, they now want to had electronics to the bikes...

If you want to know more don't isolate yourself to just the DH mountain bike world. Pretty easy to find more info in the Trophy Truck world. As far as why develop RAD on Jesse or Ritchie's bike. Well trail/enduro bikes make up the biggest numbers of MTB bikes sold and those type of bikes see the widest range of terrain and widest range of rider type. The whole idea of RAD is to remove suspension set up from the rider and let preset algorithms deal with it. That is my take on it. Really nothing new, perhaps just fairly new to MTB. Do some research into F1 active suspension going back to the 1980's.

I’ve been thinking for some time… why buy a complete bike, “if” you have a complete set of components you already own, wheel set, brake set, shifter set and in this case suspension set and wirelessly control the whole lot to the frame and motor via the display. What’s not to like? ….well apart from ABS but that’s a whole other video 😅

A lot of people that wanted to hate it apparently tried it and love it.. It makes sense for certain bikes but I guess I can't have an opinion on it until I try it. lol
