Late again George, but will enjoy in replay. When I win the lottery George I am buying you a nice Ford transit van built out with living accommodation and a closed utility van to pull behind, so you never have to pass up nice kitchen chairs again.
@@TheAntiqueNomad Would be perfect for your line of work travelling all over the USA and a place to just pull off rest get a bite to eat or even use a camp ground now and again or stay with friends and have your own space.
Well that was a brisk & breezy trip to the boonies! I havn't found many yard sales around here worthy of my time & energy. Not motivated enough, i guess. While i was in IL visiting my daughter & family, they religiously got up early on Sat & went to quite a few, so i tagged along. It's more fun to go as a group, although, when going solo, when you're done, you can move on the the next one. Looks like you scored some deals. That table & 6 chairs would have come home with me! I saw there was some Americana things. I love that stuff, i don't know why. Maybe because it was such a terrible time in history that reminds me that all are precious in His sight.
I love everything but that brass alligator is one of a kind I am in love with him lol I'm from Florida and my nickname is Gator and I've never seen one in 52 yrs..thanks for sharing George
There were a few things I would have bought for sure even if they were not "old" I loved that cobalt trinket box with legs that was just cute. Thanks for teaching me some new things about the antique world. I will usually buy things and put them to use before getting rid of them. You know got to test them and see if the stand the test of time. lol Have a great day and the rest of your trip
I like going shopping with you. You’ve taught me a lot.. what’s really old and what’s not and I enjoy your voice it’s very calming and pleasant. And you seem so nice. Thought the price is at the sales were a bit high though.
When i heard Tennessee Tech I almost choked on my ice cream...lol... I live in Cookeville. Tech is only 3 miles from my house. My mother retired from there and my husband has been the Tech Mail Man for 20 years...lol...
You were in cow town and you showed us the concrete ones that used to graze the front of a steak house . We had a famous restaurant that closed down after 85 years and the big cows in front just disappeared. Best of all I appreciate the real thing, when you said here is the inspiration. Too bad you could not fit the the 50s dining set, but there will always be another just around the bend....ha ha Thanks George!
I'm a new booth vendor at the Americas Antique Mall in Melbourne Florida. I am so happy I found your channel. I am learning a lot from you!! And I love all the places you go! Thank you so much for sharing your journeys and your knowledge.
That's great! I'm glad you discovered me and I'll try to tell you all I can. I hear that is a very good mall and I hope to get over to see it sometime in 2023!
The neighboring ranch house that loved our family had the happiest little bit of everything decor and they had a big spooner and sugar and creamer and other fun old things on a big lazy suzan on a huge old oak lace covered table and her thing was violets on porcelain and china and real violets which were everywhere and she made amazing cakes,,,she put her kids though school with the cake money..and coffee was always on and fresh..whenever you were going crazy in the real sticks. I love this rural one sale after another...thank YOU!! Gee our Christmas stockings had all those fun toys..
What a neat story! I remember our neighbors down the street were the local folks who made a killing seeking their properties when people moved to our county in the 1970s, they would always buy from us kids when we had to sell stuff for school fundraisers and their house was so elegantly appointed in things I now recognize as being good antiques
If you’re ever down Texas way, check out Antique Alley. It is the 3rd weekend of every April and September. About 30 miles of sales and it has everything. Prices vary from antique store prices to garage sale prices.
I can guarentee the best thing at the first sale was the horse. Just ask the horse. I had some of the Mickey D's glasses at the last estate sale, but we used ours. It's fun seeing what's out there, especially since my part of CT has been so DEAD lately.
Frame 25:02 Don't you want a Grape Nehi.... You could play like you where having a glass with Radar from Mash. I think Radar had to be my favorite character out of all of them.
Wow I'd love to go to these yard sales. Looks like so much fun, I seen you pick a bottle up that had Owensboro on it... I live in Owensboro, so cool. Thank you for sharing 😊☀️🌵♥️
I can't wait to move to Florida and to be where they have roadside sales. On Long Island you have to be way out East for that kind of thing. This close to the city and when they say "highway" they really do mean highway! Kind of slim pickings - at retail prices. But at least you were out on a nice day!
Good evening, George! Oh wow! I saw a lot of items at the first stop I would've bought to use or on which to do paintings. Love the oak phones! I've always wanted one of those. I found one at a flea market one time, for $25.00, with the original insides, but it had been refinished and coated with polyurethane and I didn't want that. I liked that enameled-top kitchen set. I spotted several oil lamps that caught my attention...I have to fight myself to keep from buying those. There's just no room for another one here. I'd love to go on a yard sale shopping like that, but I just can't leave here for that long. Thanks for the take-along!!!!!
George, in Michigan you can go to Paris and also Hell. I have been thru some hell in my life but haven’t been to Hell yet. Paris is tiny with a nice campground and Boy Scouts built an Eiffel Tower somewhat smaller than the one in France. Just an FYI if you are your way to Petosky.
Phones didn't come two tone to my knowledge. I think someone put a red handset on a beige phone. I lived through black only phones to colors but never saw a two tone. Alex shoutout!
It's such good quality but such a featurless grain that is always stained in a certain way...I wonder what other options for repurposing them might exist!
LOL the sad thing is ever since we had that conversation, everyone else thinks of you when they see Rushton Santas...but I think of you when I see Blue Ribbon Geese!
When you say something is made offshore, I imagine people making glass on oil rig platforms. I know that’s not what you mean. What do you mean by “offshore”?
Lol true! It's not entirely a fair way of putting it. I'm mainly referring to items that are sent in to North America by ship from Asia (mostly) and Europe (some).
There are a bunch in Kentucky each year, some are annual and some bi-annual. Hwy. 60 sale, Hwy. 68 sale, Hwy. 41 sale, Hwy. 25 sale, Hwy. 127 sale are all worth googling for 2023 dates
Great video George! Thanks for sharing!
Just a great time with George! All his videos are great! 🙂 So good to learn more info! George is an expert! So lucky to watch this!
I'm lucky to get to do this for you!
Omg that buick 💚💚💚 truck is super sweet too

Who knew that Corelle made napkin rings? I sure didn't.
Yes, they made to match the most popular patterns...I don't know that all the patterns had them though
That gray dinette table is what we had when we got married in 1964 the chairs were also gray.
Yes! Very much the era
If anyone could pull it off it would be GEORGE!🙌🏻😎
Truer words have ne'er been uttered, Mighty Mike Faust!!
Oh my, what fun George. 😊
Thanks for taking us along with you!

Any time!
Oh goody. George is back
Dang you were out in the cow 🐮 patties George!...Great finds!... 🙏💜✨
So much fun to watch! Thank you George!
My pleasure!
Had to watch later, George. Really enjoyed this, thank you! Hi, Xeno! 🐾

Thanks George that was fun.

Don't forget that the big Minnesota state Fairgrounds show is October 1st through the 3rd.
Thanks George. Great video!
Audio was a little sketch at times, but thanks for showing us all the great junk. Looking forward to more. Cheers.
Yes, we were trying to use Airpods then...it didn't work out
You know Alex too , he has a wonderful channel. That Edmonton Canada is beautiful.
Yes he does!

Great adventure Georgie! Loved those green glasses!
1:39 I HAVE A WHOLE BOX OF THOSE OLD TELEPHONE POLE INSULATORS, GLASS AND CERAMIC
Yes! They were a widespread collectible at one time
Frame 25:02 Don't you want a Grape Nehi.... You could play like you where having a glass with Radar from Mash. I think Radar had to be my favorite character out of all of them.
I have an air popper I got in the mid 80s. Still use it almost weekly!
Thanks for taking us along xo
The blue ribbon geese! If it makes a comeback, I’m set as it’s everywhere here in Iowa!
Loved the video!!
Wow I'd love to go to these yard sales. Looks like so much fun, I seen you pick a bottle up that had Owensboro on it... I live in Owensboro, so cool. Thank you for sharing 😊☀️🌵♥️
You probably know this already, but look out for the brown glass ashtrays with the McDonald's logo! The going rate is $200 on these.
Wow! I had heard some McDonalds stuff went high but thank you for that tip

The good news was that I (in a prior video) had already found something really great that day for cheap, so I couldn't whine too much!

Hi there! I love oak phones...in fact, all phones. I also appreciated the enameled kitchen set! I understand the issue of not having enough room...
@@TheAntiqueNomad Yeah, not having enough room for anything else makes for some woeful shopping 🤣🤣🤣

That must have been exhausting!
A bit so
should have herd me squeel when I saw the vender with ALL that Jadeite....
Yes! Understood
That was fun. I am glad I don't live near there. I would be broke after going to just a few of the sales.
At 17:48m the flashed EAPG, It could be the waste jar to a set, sugar, creamer, waste jar
Also possible, no lid but could've been missing
Phones didn't come two tone to my knowledge. I think someone put a red handset on a beige phone. I lived through black only phones to colors but never saw a two tone.

I don't know why, but I've come to hate "Rock Maple." So, so enjoyed George! 🍁 Canada
It's such good quality but such a featurless grain that is always stained in a certain way...I wonder what other options for repurposing them might exist!
Yep, still not a believer. 😂

Blue Bow Geese were ugly in the 80's - and ztill are!
