please do go deep messing with it, maybe a higher RPM motor is an easy option for it. seen another review, a foam block to keep the battery forward in its trap may help. may also be room for a Y harness to put two batteries parallel, with more weight the suspension and traction might be a little better, rather it battery than "dumb weight" any day, more run time.
other review I watched was Tomley's, he ran a LiPo in it woke it up a bit. Lithium ion can't push as much current, but a pair in parallel might be able to push enough into the motor. if both are options, faster motor and more battery weight, might make the good budget beast.
Tomley opened it up pretty cheap electronics looks cool but tracks need to be more heavy duty to be any good

Couldn't believe the quality of this for the money, so after watching your review (and the Saylors) I went and had a look on Banggood and with a 20% off coupon this was £38.19/$49.11/$70.88Aus... Totally irresistible at that price! It's something different and SO cheap, with mod-potential out the wazoo. I ordered a black one btw, thought it leant itself better to painting at a later date (I'm thinking urban camo).

Gonna say yes. Tear down to see what in it. If it can be upgraded. Motor esc and servo or whatever is in it.. see if lipo battery could work.. like if its a 180/190 motor. Or a 380.. if a brushless motor that size can fit. Or even a 540
30,000 RPM 180 size are eBay easy for 1-2 bucks each, 380 and 390 motors come in different specs too for 4-7 bucks each.
If the transmission is solid, this thing brushless would absoloutley rip.

I got one of these for my 5 year old for Christmas. I know it's only two days away and I'll find out for myself, but what kind of battery connector does this use? It looks super sweet! Some stick on lead weights under the body at the nose would maybe be the ticket, eh?

Been eyeing this for awhile and thinking a hearse body (no pun intended) would look cool on it! Also alot of lipos are 7.4 volts, so why couldn't you run lipo?

This is so cool! Maybe you could investigate putting some less stiffer springs inside the shocks, I think if it had better suspention it would RIP! Maybe a cheap little sized brushless upgrade.. definitely pull It apart and mod! I'm a huge fan and I'm listening and watching you're awsome content keep it up brother ;-)

I think it needs a bit softer spring and a track with a little more traction to it. Still for the price, it might be a fun tank to modify and really make it unique. Like some G.I. Joe figures and rocket launchers.

Tear it down boys. I live close to the real one seen it being tested was way kool and can really fly. Was in a few movies too. Since then they have up graded it big time and the US government is still trying to get there hands on it. We will see there new version has a multitude platforms and is even better then the first. only a maybe that the stock ESC can go 3S,

the tracks would need changing, the smooth slick tracks might work on smooth concrete or asphalt, but on dirt terrible,
might be easy enough to glue some lugs to those tracks, straight square rubber bars across, or round dots cut out with a paper punch from stuff about 2 mm thick like an old inner tube

I guess this need two big brushless motors an Fpv setup and then you can do some real snit with it.
How reliable is the rubber belt... Will it last long driving in rough surface?
So far so good. Just slips off occasionally but overall very good

It looks the part until it move's a bit to bouncy and lacking what the full size was renowned for speed, let's look inside and then give it some more speed then see how it hold's up.

agree, anything 50-100% faster would about right for this toy version. 6 mph for 1/12 scale would be 72, 6 a good top speed for trail walking and banging around.
