- This little 12th scale ripsaw style tank is definitely a fun rig to run. A little more speed would be nice but it still is fun as is. I dont recommend the sand bit hey it was a blast till cleaning time! Thanks for all the support and check out the links below.
Also I'm sure I am wrong about this being on Top Gear. I think it was on the The Grand Tour.

Mine just came today. It is actually very nice. I've always wanted a "high speed" RC tank without having to do a ton of custom work. I love it.

It is a cool score, I remember watching fast 8 and seeing the Ripsaw on the movie. I have a blast with mine, left a like and sub.
idk what size motor, but can probably upgrade. Haiboxing (HBX) 2188B just arrived, I'm really surprised at the 1/18 180 powered RTR drifter, its so much like a 1/10 scale, turnbuckles everywhere it counts on the thing too. friction dampers for "shocks" but you wouldn't know it.

I found a fix for the lean back on tack off. remove rear track roller, access the spring in shock keep spring in keeper, place fuel line tubing over the spring and reassemble, no more back flips. Also cut out battery box and remove interior will give more room for bigger battery.

It's a cool boat. I also have the smaller barbwire 17. They rip and never have to worry about capsizing. Fun for sure!

I haven't damaged one yet. I have 3 of these.
I think the WPL E-series will be a tracked vehicle like this... Most likely the GAZ 71, judging from the teaser photo on their official Facebook page. I'll probably wait for that before buying a tracked vehicle, but this thing looks cool too!
This is cool but if wpl is coming out with a tracked vehicle I'd get that for sure.
@@RunThatRC Same here, would love to add a tracked wpl vehicle to my collection. The Facebook page is called "WPL RC" if you want to try to find the teaser image, it's the outline of the e series behind a curtain. They just made the page in October.

Loved watching the Howe brothers build and test the ripsaw. This looks like a fun rendition of it. Looks like you had a blast in the sand. Have you had a chance to run it more. How is it holding up?
Just a hand full of times after that run. Nothing is broken so far and after cleaning the sand off most of it it's back to like it was brand new. Fun to mess with for sure

Looked really cool trucking through the sand. Hows the tank been holding up durability wise?
After I cleaned the sand out of most of it I ran 2 more packs without issues but have not done any further durability testing since. I will run it again probably when I go camping. Probably add weights to the front and see what that does.

The tank needs more weight.
It would be nice if they sold optional tracks, something that actually had a little bit of traction. I'm not sure setting it up as a drift tank was the optimal situation
Yeah some more traction would be nice. I know they sell a version with extra tracks but in think they may be plastic with metal link pins or something like that.
The army supported it but in the end they didn't know what to do with it.

you can find similar batteries but the plug might be different. I would just update the plug to something more common so you can use other batteries imo.

Hi. Mate, can you do a video on opening the chassis?
its actually really easy to open it up. just a couple scews on the bottom and it splits in half. a lot of room in there for weights up fro. or modding.
If you have a can of duster to reach area's that are practically impossible plus saves time and a nice 3" long bristle Camel hair brush too.Is the speed variable or fixed ?? Is Very Nice, But that's the worst place to put the hatch for battery access, if you go to Walmart and get a small roll of vinyl laminate, cut a rectangular piece to cover the battery panel it will lock out any moisture and dirt that adds to unwanted failure ! "A Very MERRY CHRISTMAS to Everyone"! Looks good Bro !
The speed is proportional and so is the steering. I was thinking of trying to make it amphibious but where the wheels come out may be a challenge to seal. Its a fun rig!

Not that I know of. There is a version with different tracks that's about it for now.
Do you think one could in theory put a modified lexan car body on it so you could make a mad max fury road tank?
it may be possible with the right lexan body

yes it would and there is room up front for weights when you open the body.
Looking at the Ripsaw I didnt thi k it was going bode well with the sand. But I was pleasantly mistaken nice. Nice run what would say top speed was??
It's fun and for a tank its fast but its about 8kph/5mph

It comes with a 7.4 lion and I don't think its waterproof but maybe if you seal the 2 halfs and waterproof the electronics then maybe it might float and would be a fun mod!

Yup it has all the weight from the gearbox and motor at the back. There is enough room to add some weights up front to hopefully help it perform better.

The only thing I’m skeptical of is the location of the on off switch.
definitely not a good spot but haven't had it do any shut offs on me while running.

imo it's more toy but people do mod these and make them more hobby grade. To me its good as is for a tracked vehicle and definitely fun to run.
Yeah nice video. Still unsure of the idea of the actual RC. It says crawler on the box but nothing vibes as crawler. So fun and fast bash yes, crawler not a chance. But just my opinion, obviously u have one and i do not so ur judgment is better than mine.
definitely not a crawler. Maybe some trails once you weight the front end. Needs more speed and power for bashing as well. It's just fun to run. mine is still unmodded

There's a will there's a way. The motor mounting system will make it a more advanced mod for sure.

I abused mine with about 7 battery packs of run time. Haven't ran it for about a year and some. Just checked up on it and it runs and functions great still.

How long does it take to ship through them? I placed an ordered and it's been processing for almost a week even thi my payment already went through. There site has no contact number other then there emails
What I have noticed is if I pay for shipping it gets to me faster than with free shipping. Takes some of the free shipping stuff like a month. I get the stuff I pay shipping on generally around 2 weeks. I'm in the US so it may vary depending where you are from. When I need to contact them I usually go through the app or the website I believe you can also live chat with them. I have had good results with live chat.
@@RunThatRC yea I did the live chat but no response I'm in us also I had to pay for the shipping thru there banggoods app so I will check it in a week or so. Was just really iffy on the website
I have not had an issue with live chat helping me out. Sometimes sadly delays because of the holidays. A lot of gifts being ordered from overseas.

What did the sand do to it over all?
The sand just jammed up the top row of free spinning wheels. Also gets inside through the air vents.
@@RunThatRC Were you able to get them spinning freely again? Was thinking about using this at the beach
@@DENSUTUBE2008 they did start slowly spinning again with about 2 runs not on sand lol. Probably need to run it a little more or just disassemble the wheels clean and reinstall.

Kind of disappointing if it suppose to have metal gears and it DOES NOT. China - plastic/nylon gears do not hold up!!
It really is disappointing. Specially when they advertise it. I haven't done any abusive runs but so far with about 12 runs through it the gears look brand new still so hopefully it's not bad. Only time will tell though.
