  • Forward fuselage sides underway with rivets. Still a bit of upsizing to go, and aft wing spar attachment channel yet to be started, and fitting of idler arm.

Another great video Andy! Thanks for posting. It's interesting to see the seatpan/wing attach points ... helps me visualize what I'm currently working on with my wing spars.

there is still a bit of work to go in the set out, in particular the rear spar carry through....this weakened should see most of that completed...

*_Beautifully done. I hope you continue with the great commentary, This is exactly what I've been looking for._* Your build is top notch and I can't wait to see the finished product. One question I presently have an 11 by 13 mini shop if I cleared that out so there was nothing in it would that be big enough to build my Sonex? Or will I need to do an upgrade to something much bigger. *_Thanks and keep up the great work !!!_* 👌

I'm building my Sonex in a one-car garage that's 12' x 22' (I think anyway, I'm out of town right now and would need to measure again). Even in that space it's going to be very tight once I have the fuselage assembled.
According to the drawings, once I have the engine in place I'll only have about 2-3 feet of space lengthwise.
You can certainly start in your shop with some of the smaller components (vertical and horizontal stabilizers, rudder, elevators, ailerons, flaps, etc.) but the wings are each over 12' long with the spars poking out to attach to the fuselage. You'll eventually need something bigger.

great question and I will actually answer that in depth on my next posting, which I should have completed this weekend
