@ plus don’t you train people as well? I went college for my cdl and I was the the next fall semester the pretrip for the exam was changing to full tractor and trailer not just one selection of tractor and full trailer
@ you gonna train anybody coming up? I was a nervous wreck when it came to test day pre trip and the road test part of the test I was nervous wreck but back I didn’t have any issues but somehow I passed the test in one try
Thanks Antonio I’m doing well actually back in Florida with a load dropping it off with 2 stops near the house so I get to see my wife and kids for a few days which is awesome I’m happy for sure. Hope you’re doing well and it’s not too cold for you out there in Washington ❄️
@@RunningOTR For sure it's always nice to see your family. Yeah, it's been cold in WA, no snow yet where I'm from. But some rain, and it's been getting down to the 20's over here
Your a lucky man if your driving more south of Denver as opposed to North on your regular routes; North Denver is basically hell on earth when it comes to traffic. Drive safe my guy.
Thank you for all the work you do across the US and for RUclips. You don’t have to share your journey but you do!!! I just started my RUclips channel called Pedal N Ride because you inspired me to show my passion which is riding bikes. Thank you sir and stay safe and have a great holiday!!!!
Hey thank you so much for the kind words 😀 means a lot to me. I try my best to show people what I do and deal with on the daily basis I try and motivate and inspire others to start trucking and show them what to expect out here. That’s so awesome that you got inspired by my channel to start yours. I hope you get far with it as well 🙏 hope others get inspired by your videos and passion for bikes. You’re welcome my friend I hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas 🎄 and a Happy New Year 🎆 take care ✌️
Another great video your last 2 loads brought back memories as i delivered many loads to Mt Pleasant Walmart DC and would load in Ottumwa Ia and take 7up products back to Fargo ND, what is that electric box above your passenger window for? Stay safe out there and take care my friend.
Hey Dan 👋 thanks for watching my friend yes I love Iowa it’s one of my favorite states to truck in. Ah okay so you kind of did the same route I did that day 😀 I haven’t been to North Dakota in so long I’m actually in need to get back up there one of these days. Are you talking about the camera? They installed a camera inside of the truck that watches inside and outside which I don’t like at all but we can’t do anything about it the whole company got one 🤷♂️ you take care as well and happy holidays 🙏
@@RunningOTR I was noticing when you were folding up your windshield curtain on the passenger side top back side of the door there was a control panel there that's what I was wondering what it is for, I wouldn't like the rear facing camera on me either.
@@grizzlyridgerunner hey grizzly yes sir doing well thanks for checking on me I drove thru your town last night heading back towards FL stopped for a quick 30 now in Monteagle going to drive another 200 miles and it will be the end of the shift 😃 hope you’re having a great weekend my friend 🤝
Need to let it warm up awhile for sure. I run mine at idle for at least 15-30 mins this time of year. Diesels have larger piston to wall clearance. When In cold temperatures and the metals haven’t warmed up and expanded you can have piston slap and it knocks like that sometimes. Could also be preignition or fuel injection timing making that knocking sound. I would let it get nice and warm before you accelerate or work the motor if you have the time.
Yeah I figured it didn’t warm up enough I didn’t like the sound I was a bit worried I put antigel too to prevent gelling I guess next time I’ll let it idle for about 30min before driving thanks 🤝 stay safe out there always 🙏
Are you talking about the Love's in Shelby, Iowa? McRibs....yuck. I like their Filet-O-Fish though. Your motor sounded rough, sounds like a diesel that's cold. I remember when I lived in Vermont, I used to have to plug my engine block heater in so it would not make a racket when trying to start at -20 degrees. I like the daytime driving videos better than the night ones, I like to see the landscape as you're driving....it sure is flat in Nebraska. OMG, you can eat 5 tacos? LOL
Yes exactly in Shelby Iowa 😂 I just could remember that time, I agree my wife like the fish fillet also but the McRib I tried it for the first time and I’ll never again eat it it wasn’t good at all. Yeah the motor was cold since it was pretty cold outside all day next time I’ll just idle and let it warm up before going anywhere so I don’t mess up my truck. Yeah daytime is much more enjoyable because you can see more. Nebraska is lovely always flat and peaceful driving thru there. I ate 5 tacos because I was starving 😂 didn’t have any food since the day I ate the McRib. Thanks for watching and the awesome support as always I appreciate it.
@@RunningOTRYes French man 😊 I work in trucking industry in Canada ( Quebec ) Actually I'm in Allentown PA and back to Montréal for Christmas 🎉 Are you on night shift ?
@ yes I was on night shift I just got done and parked. Ah okay well at least you will have a nice Christmas in Canada with beautiful views and snow. ❄️
I like your videos, you are a good safe driver. I think you should reconsider driving five mpr under the speed limit. On a 10 shift you are 50 miles behind which means you must run your engine appprx. one hour longer. the cost of the fuel for that hour eats up your savings. By running slow, other trucks must pass you thereby obstructing the flow of traffic. Just something for you to consider, safe travels,
Thanks man and I agree with what you said 😃 idk 🤷♂️ sometimes I run slow to save fuel because the company books all their loads at 55mph so meaning even if I run 55 I would still make it on time but that’s too damn slow so I always try running 62 or 65 at times if the ground is flat or I’m empty
Man your pretrip reminded me of my days in college and your words are so accurate to what they drilled into our brains in school
Yeah I still remember it from back 3 years ago even though they changed it all up 🤦🏼♂️
@ plus don’t you train people as well? I went college for my cdl and I was the the next fall semester the pretrip for the exam was changing to full tractor and trailer not just one selection of tractor and full trailer
@ yeah I got you and yes I still train people at times. Yeah pretrip was a nerve racking thing before but it came in smooth the more you practiced

Yeah back in the mid 90’s, Englewood PD gave me a nice ticket for parking the opposite way, $75. 🧐

How long is your average time away from home per trip? Just wondering.
Usually 3-4 weeks but I can go home anytime since I’m a lease driver 😀
