Description: In a climate where claims of being the greatest of all time rage in every sport, it was our honor and pleasure to sit down with someone who can make that claim with little dispute. Taking the chair of reflection was none other than Road Warrior Animal, without a doubt one half of the greatest tag team to ever grace the squared circle.
As with his wrestling career Animal pulls no punches as he comes out firing on all cylinders! He talks candidly and openly about the current state of the business and why he feels he has never been brought back by the WWE. His frustration shows through about how he feels underutilized and to a certain degree disrespected by the powers that be in the WWE. His emotional retrospect of his brother Road Warrior Hawk are as memorable as they are touching. He talks about the downfall of Hawk and the circumstances surrounding it. He walks us through the rise of the famed tag-team in all parts of the globe.
This is your opportunity to walk in the shoes of a man who would rise to the highest possible plateau in our beloved business. Feel like you are in the room with us as we take an unscripted and personal journey inside the mind of a man who was told he would never make it. A athlete that would gives us the memories of our youth and still have the honesty to share the tale. Yes we debate a lot about who is the greatest, but with this man, this team, the answer is pretty clear.

a trick : watch movies on flixzone. I've been using them for watching lots of of movies lately.
@Cameron Patrick definitely, have been watching on flixzone} for since november myself =)
It really is heartbreaking to hear him talking about his future plans, RIP Animal
Great interview. Animal really was entertaining, as was Hawk. Can’t believe they’re both gone. RIP, Warriors! Greatest of all time.
Once in a lifetime tag team..always will be remembered as 2 monsters who took the fans attention from all the other wrestlers when they made their presence..The Road Warriors.. never again, but forever remembered as nothing short of awesome beyond comparison..
Something about watching one of my heroes chat while thoroughly enjoying his pizza just makes me so happy. RIP Animal thanks for the memories
RIP Road Warrior Animal. I was just watching the NFL films from 2009 when Animals son was a rookie in the league. It’s crazy how much this man aged in 11 years.
My favorite tag-team of all-time! in fact, everyone's favorite tag-team of all-time! The Legion Of Doom! The Road Warriors! R.I.P. Hawk! We love you Animal!
He seems like one of the most humble wrestlers of that era
This maybe one of the best interviews ever. Third time I've watched it. The face paint, the pizza, the conversation, and one of the greatest Legends... 🍕
WWE would be a dam fool not to take animal and use him as a coach at the least. AEW will sign animal after watching this. Animal is still with it and truly has passion!
@Jon Goat really ?
@@Daniel.Patrick.Walsh88 he would have been a great trainer , I agree , it’s just so sad he’s no longer with us
I'd love to split a pizza with Animal, but wouldn't take the last slice. What a cool and smart dude.
Shit better order a second pie!
I never knew watching a wrestler eat a pizza could be so entertaining- ha!
Me: I will watch a couple of minutes and get an overview.
15 minutes later to my wife: I will be down in an hour and a half
These guys, especially Hawk is what got me into wrestling. I have followed their careers from 1984-their death's. Everybody talks about Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan it was the Road Warriors who helped push wrestling back then. Rest in peace Mike and Joe
These guys had such an impact especially when they first came in, running in the ring and just manhandled everyone they came across. No one had ever seen anything like that.
RIP Warriors 👊🏼
Loved this shoot, man he truly was a class act and a true badass, such great stories will be deeply missed! 💔😢🙏🏼 🙌🏼 Thanks 4 Memories.
Thank you TitleMatch. Much appreciated!!!
In my Hawk voice... Well.. Love it. LOD is truly one of best tag team ever. Rest in Peace Michael Hegstrand
Whenever there's a thunderstorm poppin' off above my head, methinks that atmospheric disturbance is due to a couple of my favorite fellows doing up in glory what they did here on mother earth.R.I.P my brothers of the ROAD.
Great interview. RIP big fella.
Always loved Animal, what a classy guy man! Mad Respect!
R.I.P. Animal who sadly passed away last night. :(
He will be missed
Thank you for this Interview with Road Warrior Animal
Great interview. Rest easy Animal...
Well my thoughts animal is an legend an to be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame was cool to one of the greatest tag- team wrestler's of all time an for ever, thankyou Animal for keeping the Road Warriors or LOD legecy going on an will be always be remember for ever. RIP
Love this loved n still love the ROAD WARRIORS them and bruiser brodie were wrestling icons RIP 2 him and hawk second 2 none simply the best everytime i seen a road warrior match i say n my head in hawks voice....WHAT A RUSH....EVERYTIME
Awesome this guy was one of my heroes growing up I was that kid that had the bedsheets and the lunchboxes action figures cereal etc loved this interview
I also grew up idolizing these guys in the 80s;but was there also a cereal Tony?
This is gold, thanks guys!
I got hooked on wrestling as a kid the first time i watched the LOD In the NWA days
A true legend and gentleman rest in peace animal
Biggest pop in the history of wrestling. It's even called the Road Warrior pop. Arenas would literally shake
WHHHHHHAAAAAAAATT A RUSH.. TELL EM HAWK.. WELL... RIP Road Warrior Hawk. No one will ever again fly from the top turnbuckle without standing in your shadow.
This was so great to watch. What an awesome guy animal is.
I remember warm summer night partying on the roof of The Gym smoking cigars with Animal. Partying with the Road Warriors was always fun
Dude, this is amazing. Not sure who I’m more impressed with more; the interviewer or interviewee?
RIP Hawk & Animal
I was actually a big fan of Demolition. They should of ran that feud. Road Warrior/LOD were definitely not used to their fullest potential in WWF. Great team, and that's what they were a real team, two big tough dudes who were buds from Minneapolis. Wrestling was definitely more organic and authentic back then.
And yes the Road Warriors are the greatest tag team of all time. The pop they got was insane, you don't get those anymore.
This guy and his partner Hawk were definetly by far...my favorite tag team in NWA.....my favorite in WWF was the British Bulldogs!
R..I.P. Joe - Gone way too soon.
that pizza looks damn good
40:00 Sounds like a new Haku story that we've never heard before!
Gavin says : this guy wrote the book on immortality!! What a Rush!!!!
Great interview.i know wrestling the road warriors were the best wrestler ever in the 80s from kids to grandpas grandmas every one had zubuzs.lod road warriors were at the top more then hogan ultimate warrior macho man.the best ever.strongest plus both great guys always had your back.rip what a rush.
Never knew he was from Philly lol
Yeah man.
Me and my little brother dressed up like Animal and Hawk one Halloween
Road Warrior Animal said he was making $150 per week for wrestling 9 times a week.....once Monday-Friday....twice on Saturday...twice on Sunday.....and turned around by being the tag team champs along with Hawk in AWA....NWA...and New Japan Pro Wrestling all at the same time...Those 2 were booked 4 Japan something tough along with Andre The Giant...Abdullah The Butcher....Bruiser Brody...The Masked Superstar.....King Kong Bundy...The Funks....Stan Hansen...Blackjack Mulligan and even Hulk Hogan too....which made tons of money over there in Japan.....I think Animal...Andre....Abdullah....Brusier Brody did the right thing with theyre finances buying property....businesses and just saving for theyre wives and kids amd it showed for some more than others and that has showed in other shoot interviews, stories in newspaper/news or like a 20/20 show by ABC....documentaries and Reality Shows!
RIP Animal
The Legion of Doom Hawk, Animal, and you have to mention Paul Elering the best tag team and manager of all time hands down nobody comes close.
If the delivery guy took an hour & half to bring my food, I wouldn't tip him anything lol.. I'd be kinda pissed for waiting that long, but Animal is a nice guy..
Love Joe, great guy
The briscoe Brothers and the killer bees and all those other tag teams before them could not hold a candle to the road warriors aka legion of Doom whatever you want to call them. Joey laurinaitis and Mike hagestrand were the only tag team to truly sell out main events around the world consistently!!!!
"I'm a Philly guy" the documentary I saw on wwe network was still kayfabing that him and Hawk both grew up in Chicago lol
1:05:39 Rick Rude story, one of my all time favourites!
Road warrior animal is a legend never died
Road warriors rule!
Legion of doom was one of my favorite tag teams ever back in the day
That pizza is all sauce. 1st time i seen anyone actually want margarita pizza
how did he eat it and not wear it while sitting without a table.
Real men don’t need a table to eat pizza 🍕
Say did you guys ever sell merch in Hazleton PA?? At a wrestling show? The interviewer looks so familiar.
Rest In Peace !
R.i.p x
Iconic face paint
Ohhhhh what a RUSH
Damn I didnt know Rhodes teamed with Slater. I know he was part of the Texas Outlaws with Murdoch but I didnt know he was with Slater also
I bet that margarita pizza was good. 8^)
RIP Brother ☘️💪
Damn I didn’t realize Animal died I was hoping he was training at AEW or something . RIP
Where EXACTLY did Animal live in Philadelphia. Im originally from Philly too, West Philadelphia/University City 1985-1998
Bridesburg section.
I love these stories.
Gange said he almost got hulk back in the awa in the 90s, not the 80s. The russian thing was for wcw not awa. the russina thing fell through
Why is Animals soul patch drawn on?? Look at the tip of it. It's drawn on. Why?
It's just face paint. Same thing.
Thank you for sharing
1:15:25 holy shit, talk about clairvoyance!
Shane's wearing a fanny pack😅
Philly pizza crunch 19:20
Its not a margarita he said he wanted one but their is italian sausage on it so it is no longer a margarita. A margarita has basil, cheese, and tomato sauce to make the pizza green white and red for the italian flag.
He should be a spoke person for philly pizza.
10:29
the most unworthy people exploiting the most worthy and abused business with the most legendary Animal
Now I want pizza.
Guy could've combed his goddamn hair!!
I wonder if he got his heart checked out? Maybe his death was preventable. If you're a retired wrestler who used to do steroids you should get you're heart checked annually.
Dizzy Head Boulder 🤣!
Saggs beat up Shamrock? Idk about that
Probably snuck up behind him
He snuck up behind Shamrock in a hotel room and hit him in the back of the head with an old rotary phone.
Steiner Brothers would've corked LOD In 5 minutes.
I thought they were called the legion of doom.
WWF trade mark the legion of doom
But to awa wcw they are the road worries
@@lloydc4175 actually when the legion of Doom the road warriors were a young team. Precious Paul ellering was the manager Jake the Snake Roberts and the spoiler we're all parts of the stable or in this case the legion of Doom. When Jake the Snake Roberts left for Florida and a spoiler was gone the name just stood with them and just added to the mystique of the road warriors.
Joe Ayala King Kong Bundy was a member also.
@@rawbundy4676 yes I believe that's when he had hair thanks for the follow up appreciate it.
I thought they were interviewing PS Michael Hayes when he said one half of the greatest tag team champions
Dude really?
Demetrius Smith yeah really this is wrestling not pro sports. It’s all subjective and Legion Of Doom was boring. Same promo and match every time. “Were going to squash and destroy tell em Hawk. What a rush.” Bell rings kick stomp punch doomsday device 1 2 3. No psychology just the same thing over and over. #BORING
@@bodhi8297 you obviously no nothing about Road Warriors. Do your homework before you open your yap.. Don't get me wrong Freebirds are legends. But they're still not as great as the GOAT Tag team in Sports Entertainment The LOD. And that's not subjective that's a fact.
Demetrius Smith really nothing you said is fact actually matter of your opinion. You obviously know nothing of basic vocabulary
@@bodhi8297 seems you can't understand plain English yourself. See if this is basic enough for you. Fact... The LOD are the best tag team ever. Not conjecture but FACTS!
animal absolutely annihilated that pizza, god damn...he killed each slice in 2 bites. probably smoked 6 doobers before the camera started rolling.
What ever happened to hawk?
Like👉👍🔔🌷💝👌👌
He's so nice. He offered everyone pizza. He was just a rude POS.
Wtf
🇺🇸 Trump 2024 Save America..Again!
Demolition was better.
:])
The interviewer has a feminine voice. 🤣
Would’ve been a thumbs up if u didn’t eat for 10 mins. Not acceptable on podcasts
How about you edit the video. Completely unprofessional. Just another youtube video made by hacks.
