Elkie is SUCH a Star; if I’d been sitting there, I’d probably have to pinch myself! Some Stars have - and some don’t... She DEFINITELY has it going on - and ten years on from this clip, at 80 - she still sings and looks amazing!

I got to know Elkie Brooks when she was in Vinegar Joe, even show her in a live concert in a small venue in Germany. Great lovely voice. Sure she would be a star
And of course, not forgetting Robert Palmer, born to be a star as well at that time during my student days. Now I'm 75.
I sat next to Elkie at the hairdresser's and what a sweetie!
What a lovely woman, so humble and "normal," no arrogance whatsoever. I was especially struck by her comments that, even after all of the success she's had - over 45 years at the time of this interview - she still was STILL learning about her craft; none of this "I know everything" nonsense... I wish her well...😄
