The Difference between Shear Stress Equations: Tau=VQ/IT vs Tau= V/A

Shear stress can be generated by torsional loading or shear force.
There are two equations for the shear stresses generated from the shear force:
Tau=V/A: describes the average shear stress caused by force V
Tau=VQ/It: describes the shear stress at any particular location across the cross section
