The old Twin Otter's are very small, but also very rugged, and very versatile. There is a reason why these 40 year old aircraft are still flying today. They were built to be tough and last. That is all showcased in this video as Saba has the worlds shortest runway at only 1,300 feet. That's about the same size as a US aircraft carrier deck. These Twin Otters can not only handle it, but do it without the help of an arresting cable, or catapult launch. Thanks for watching my friend! I'm always glad when my videos can help someone overcome hesitations about flying!
Well, for us aviation geeks the main attraction is the airport which has the worlds shortest commercial runway at only 1,300 feet. hat's about the same size as a US aircraft carrier deck. I had wanted to visit Saba for that reason for a very long time. If you are looking for other things to do on the island, don't worry, there are plenty of other reasons to visit Saba. The biggest non-aviation related draw to Saba is the world class diving. It is consistently listed as one of the best places, in the world, to dive. In fact, most of the people on the aircraft with me were going to dive. Plus, the island itself is simply stunning. I've been a lot of places, and, for me, Saba ranks near the top in both "most picturesque places I've ever visited", and "most interesting places I've ever visited." I only spent one day there, but I wish I could've stayed for a week. I paid a taxi driver to give me an island tour, which was so worth it. I learned so much about the island and it's 2,000 year round residents. I also did some hiking. Which is another thing the island is known for. Believe it or not, the island is home to the highest peak in the Kingdom of the Netherlands. I guess Saba really offers more to people who want to enjoy nature and disconnect from the stresses of modern life for awhile!

Wow! Those views really are stunning, must have been an enjoyable experience.
It definitely was! Once in a lifetime really! Stay tuned for the cockpit footage from this flight!
That is such a small plane. It was a great video. It helps me to be a little less scared of planes. Thanks for sharing.

Also this was 10 days after my birthday
Wow when did Saba get a concrete runway?
The airport closed for about a month at the end of last year for the renovation. I believe it was around October. Thanks for watching!
So? What is there to do on Saba?
