A shame these videos dont seem to receive the views they ought to.

What I find more disheartening are the number of likes compared to views, I would have to assume that even though there is clear and logical information that the green agenda is not only doing more environmental damage than traditional energy production methods and is cutting off the human races' means of survival, many are still bought into the ideology of climate crisis and we must follow the agenda regardless of the obvious consequences.

25:30 - "... as economies mature..." in other words as they atrophy into old age.
Nevertheless this is an excellent talk, Rupert Darwall brings together some interesting insights.

Returning the world to essentially a pre industrial state is not the answer to protecting the planet. Much more intense technology driven solutions appear to be better value for money and time.

Do you still have to pay for electricity and gasoline?
Not us, we invested in a solar system and electric cars and have lived and driven with free electricity for eight years now.
The PV solar system paid back in three years in gasoline savings alone.

@@gkam44 Glad things are working for you in California. But when you say ‘free electricity’ is that electricity entirely generated by your own solar panels and stored in your own battery unit? Do you draw anything from the state grid? The reason I ask is I understand the US government has spent billions of taxpayers dollars on subsidising renewables in recent years, have you taken that cost into consideration? Also, haven’t there been a few problems with blackouts in California? Wasn’t the grid overwhelmed in 2022 because of a heatwave and Californians were asked not to use their AC?
Solar and wind generates 25% of the UK’s national electricity, but it only provides intermittent energy and relies heavily on gas to fill the gaps, the cost of which is extremely high. Consequently, energy has never been so expensive in the UK. My last energy bill was the highest it’s ever been.
Solar panels are available for individual homes in the UK, but they’re not very effective. A friend of mine has solar panels fitted to his house and he thinks they’re great, but he can’t have his tumble dryer and lights on at the same time, which I wouldn’t describe as great.

That's great for your pocket but despite watching this you still ignore the environmental costs that are not attributable to just wind, they include solar as well from mining, through production transportation, installation and disposal and as already commented, they are only cost saving because of the massive subsidies that you and everyone else picks up the tab for.
