  • This is an unabridged recording of Japanese Tea Ceremony. There are many schools of tea that teach The Way of Tea, Chado or Chanoyu in Japanese. In this video, I'm showing the ritual performed in accordance with Urasenke teaching.
Tsutsumi-bukusa is the serving of thick tea using a lacquered tea container without a pouch.

    Notes about style/choices and mistakes:
    - I treat the mizusashi lid as if it was lacquered, even though it is oiled wood.
    - When picking up the dogu after haiken I do it in the way of usucha, which is a mistake. The scoop should be in the right hand and the natsume in the left, while I'm doing the opposite in the video.
    Disclaimer:
This is NOT an official movie by Urasenke and has been created independent of Urasenke.

I started to lean this recently, but I wonder if I should shave my hair on my hands and arms.

    最後の拝見の後お茶杓、お棗を持って帰る時、
    棗は濃茶扱いになるのでお茶杓は左手、お棗は右手で持って帰るのではないのですか?

This is true. It should be like for regular koicha.
