Some vibes just do better at or close to the front of the chain since they can emphasize the chorus too much if after, eg, a fuzz. Even if the intensity is turned down. Did you have to make any adjustments to the VV putting it after vs before?
Voodoo Vibe Plus is excellent, as is the Deja Vibe CS-MDV mkII...Throw in a Reeves Electro Black Hat Sound or a Dan Drive Austin Pride and you are good to go...
