Have had my X3 since 1996, and it was finally time to replace that dim backlight. Just finished my replacement job, and it works! Thanks for this video, great help!!! 👍🏼
Great video. I have the X3R and just replaced the backlight and it lights up however, there is nothing in the screen...just light...I didn't remove the old backlight, I just de soldered and clipped the contacts off...The new backlight slid in over the top of the old one (as per 'hint' in the instructions that came with it)....would there be an issue with the LCD itself? Really disappointed about this, it took a month for the backlight to arrive too!
I have to replace mine sometime also and was reading the comments. I wondered if the pressure from having two light strips behind the LCD is making the digits disappear from the LCD in the same way that you could press the screen of some old calculators and the digits disappear...hmmm just a thought. It looks like he really had to work to get the old one out in the video.
@@Nat_Paul Hey, In the end I removed the old one, still no good..I then bought a second hand screen from an X3 ...the power cable was shorter and I had to swap that over and put the new backlight in that one...still no joy! I suspect there is an issue with one of the chips feeding the signal...Most annoying!
Uma dica tem algumas trava de ferro do outro lado do display volta ela com o alicate e tira a parte do cristal fica mais fácil trocar o lâmpada, que usa tensão AC 136 volts ...
I have an X2 and the LCD works fine but hard to see in lower light. My X3 has 2 lights on the right side that light up the LCD, nice and bright so it can be seen easier. Are there separate lights on the side? Are they part of the LCD panel? You didn't show the condition of your LCD before you replaced it so I'm not sure the backlight is my problem because I can see and easily read the LCD in a lit room and look closely. It's just missing the two lights on the side.
On both there is a single flat LCD light. Should be creating equal light all over the display. Mine was dark all over. But I can imagine that a broken light still lights up a single side.
HI, hope you can help me. I fixed the display in my Korg j3, but took the battery out. After connecting the broken display with a new one, the keyboard no longer worked because the softwer had been forgotten. How can I fix? Thank you so much for your help.
Hello i have an x5dr synth module, havent used it for years, when I turned it in the screen has a dead line, lucky for me its only 1 and i can still see most of the display, how can I fix the problem? Thanks!
Hello folks, all outputs (L+R) and the headphone output of my Korg X3 are noisy. The noise is also there when I'm not playing any sound. Does anyone have experience how to fix the problem? Best regards
Hello, were you able to fix the problem? More or less the same thing happens to me. Only one channel works for me, and on the other (R) there is no signal and there are noises, sometimes intermittent and white noise. I looked at the welds and they were fine, that's not the problem.
@@diegoperez2912 Static noise means it's most likely leaking electrolytic capacitors (aluminium SMD type) on the main circuit board where the DAC chips are. Its getting quite common with them now. There are approx 20 on the main board that should be replaced before the board circuit tracks are damaged beyond repair. It may need some of the tracks repaired/linked already if you have lost an output completely.

Hi, you need to load the presdts from your disks. So, depending where you live I could support if you leave a PM.

Well not so easy, there can be several sources for that issue. But it's not unknown with X3.
