This song by Billy Joel fits Bill Medley's voice so perfectly, this is a good one by Medley, he did a great job. I also love to hear Billy Joel sing this.
@@johnroseman9087 Agreed - but how can I even consider it a fair competition when Bill Medley only did half of the song, and with limited orchestration and limited instrumentals? I mean HAS he lost "that lovin' feeling?!?" 🙄 🤷♂ 😝
WOW!! Thank you for sharing this one. `Until The Night` is my all time favorite BJ song and he has not performed it live too many times, unfortunately. So, any cover of it is welcome and this one is not bad at all!! Thank you!!
It would have been cool if he and Billy could have done a duet on this. In my Joel playlist with his demo and the album version. Thanks for the upload!
Maybe it's just because I am used to the Billy Joel version, but this one doesn't seem to have the same magic. Maybe if Bobby and Bill had sung it together it would have been a killer.
I agree. The voice is there. In fact, the voice is perfect. But leaving out the full verses and cutting back on the orchestration makes this sound like a "sampler." It's almost like demo that Bill recorded to then turned over to Bobby to do his side. This may be a weird thing to say, but stick with me. I think Billy Joel dueting with John Oates on this track with the full orchestration would be transcendent. Oates is the one who brings the soul to Hall and Oates version of "Lovin' Feeling" so I feel that he could take the Bobby Hatfield part to Joel's Bill Medley.
Quite ironic listening to this that in Billy Joel's earlier than this song The Entertainer, there's a lyric: I am the entertainer I come to do my show You've heard my latest record It's been on the radio Ah, it took me years to write it They were the best years of my life It was a beautiful song But it ran too long If you're gonna have a hit You gotta make it fit So they cut it down to 3:05
Sly reference to Phil Spector's fudging the timing on RBros Lovin Feeling so stations would play it. Long by at least a minute or so for DJ's. By the time they figured out why their playlists were running over, it was a monster hit.
Always good to hear distinctive singers sing other peoples songs but IMO this version just doesn’t do it justice. Wonder what Scott Walker would have done with this

How I wish Bobby Hatfield could have sung this together with Bill. :(
Billy Joel owns this song and always will but it has a total Righteous Brothers vibe to it as Joel himself intended. A great great song!
100% Agreed! ✌❤

Billy seems awed by them, perhaps "Righteously" so. However, Billy Joel may be one of the best singer-songwriter of our time. But shout out to Bruce!

Absolutely beautiful!

Not to criticize, but the original should have been left alone.
Really lousy. Turned an amazing goosebump song into a simpy cruise ship arrangment.
Bill himself has said he didn’t like the way this record turned out. He said he would like to record it again in a better way.
@@Sean-me4fv It would have been a lot better if he had Bobby do it with him.
