As a military man listening to this, it hits home. I've got a nephew I haven't seen yet, barely seen my niece and she's 4. I'm deployed and have been 4 of the last 5 years so every year I watch everyone's life progress. This one hit home. Happy for everyone and what they've accomplished but damn, feels like I'm stuck watching everyone live life.

At one tour was gone for 3 years before getting back stateside...Uncle Sam demands alot from and alot times we get little in return, except we can look people straight in the eye and we can back up what we say ...Sorry you been catching it on deployments they call them now . Sure hope you can get home soon and see family . Work on it . Don't know how long you been in ,but Thank-you Brother for your Service to Our Country and your Sacrifice. It's not forgotten here . Ashley, as a guitarist of 30yrs, this song moved me in a way very few can. Your raw emotion in your sound is magnetic. PLEASE listen to me and never lose those roots! SO many country music stars today succumb to the pressure and become elite snobs that no one enjoys. Maintaining those roots are what will separate you. Keep it real. Frank, I’m sorry for your loss. My fiancé was diagnosed with ALS in 2017. Didn’t think she would make it past 3 years, next month it’ll be 6 years and she’s still fighting and giving us “record highs and record lows”

It’s been a year … I am so grateful for this song here in Canada’s … I have listened to it on repeat . To help me get ready for the day , to help me summum up the energy to continue raising three amazing sums , to have family and friends in my home , to make advertising content for a business to dealing with a house falling apart and needing Reno’s , to picking up a mangled family pet hit by a truck, all by myself,! and shelter my sons from that view , to establishing making money to keep us afloat to The absolute love of my life ripping apart the life I thought we had , in minutes . And you don’t just “ un love “ someone because they left you , and left you in the biggest kind of way an entire community had to bear witness , and the countless minutes of every hour it took for me to wake up and continue paying the bills , getting a brand new company off the ground, working shifts as a Registered Nurse to pay the bills and invest in my company of one employee ( me) and raise three strong kind gentle sons to be great humans , ya it’s been a year … to make sure life continues when you just want to crawl under a rock, the biggest line in this song for me “ its a did a lot more than I thought I could one” … folks out there .. know this , you can do it … you just get up dress up show up and do it … you cry in every shower in every morning but then you just push it and play this song … and then I looked up and realized that last week , it’s been a year . Since I seen his face , since I had the person who made me laugh harder than anyone , walk out my door and into another and not look back …it’s been a year since I couldn’t take a deep breath, since I watched myself build a company work hard as an RN, continue to raise three strong, kind sons, make sure they had all the love and seen strength and dignity and grace … it’s been a year. This is THE song and honestly pulled me back from all the ledges. It’s true what everyone says folks, it’s time and it’s inner strength and it’s definitely this song … this writer and singer of this song, you’ll have no idea what ledges it’s kept me off and now I listen to it with melancholy and exhale … you did good… one of the most intimate songs for so many folks in loves that get really shuffled sometime! Hey Ashley. I 'discovered' you only a month or so ago on IG. I didn't do much following of your music for a while until a couple weeks ago. Now I'm so hooked I can barely put my phone down. It's amazing how well you have been doing and the tours, the sold out concerts, the stars you have been meeting. I'm not an American so my chances of every getting to go to one of your concerts are negligible. I've been a Country fan like forever and still listen to and watch many of my favorites from days gone by. But I'm always watching social media for new talent. There are several but by far you top that list.

It was one year from my Mom passing away on 2/11/2022. It’s been a hard year, many tears and a great void in my heart. You see who your real family is and I lost many of mine. It’s been a year of pushing forward even through darkness and self isolation to just get a grip on reality.

Ashley, it's been one heck of a year for me. I started from leaving my home of 11 years because of some unpleasant circumstances caused by the ecology of the society in that house. Then being in the hospital and a crisis housing situation for close to a year just to get better, heal myself, no longer suffer from the same crisis, to survive what I went through, just to get into a whole new situation. That's life . And yes, that's one heck of a year for all of us

My grandparents spent 20+ years in Sarasota for winter for years, in 2002 I hugged my grandpa and I had a feeling when he left Iowa to go to Sarasota I wouldn’t see him again, he died in January of 2003 I never got to say goodbye 😢
Amazing song , I love reading comments on songs like these, get to read other people's stories and know a little bit about thier journeys , and I Have some rough times but getting to read about other people's problems makes me realize my issued are pretty small on comparison, I pray everyone's journey gets better this year
