Dude, you have no idea how good you're at writing the script to commentate/narrate the video. All the subtles refences and editing is what make watching a long video enjoyable.
I had a very pleasant experience in DMZ. I’d killed 2 of this persons team and downed the third, but had a revive pistol, we revived the enemy, yes the revive pistol can do that, and told them they’re free to go as long as the dont follow us. It felt very rewarding and genuine to be able to just….let someone go
@@glacialembers The new meta is fully geared guys rushing spawns with snipers and killing other teams. Especially if you have crap vests and guns, but if you have 3 plates they either run or wait until one of them is left and then they try to be friendly. Like no, dude. You just rushed my freaking spawn and tried to snipe us. You literally knocked two of my teammates and I rezzed them and you still tried to continue sniping them. Just because I pushed and killed you and your team I'm the douchebag for not joining up when you ask? Some of them will rush you while the snipers try to hold you down, which is basically what I do minus the rushing spawn spots, but don't you love getting pushed by 3 man teams fully geared with gold guns within the first minute of your match? @@lialpie I've been betrayed countless times but not even I've been betrayed more than 3 times in a row. I had a 3 man team once fight with us but we killed two and the third guy pretended to be a different solo and joined our squad, except, one of the dead guys pleaded for help first and the new guy really did find an actual solo who arrived. Dude tried to distract us with a fake battle while dude and new solo dipped to pick up the two downed guys. The four of them immediately sprayed down one of my remaining teammates and I happened to have a Sakin LMG, was at airport doing the faction mission there. They were about to kill my other teammate too as he saw them kill our friendly and engaged but he downed one before he got downed. One of the four was picking up downed guy when I came around corner and mounted my 150 round lmg to the wall. 😂 Entire team dipped before the last one was even fully dead.
If you extract 7 times with that weapon case you get a nice chemist skin, honestly that's why I only played the game mode but then it grew on me, although it needs tons of more end game goals because as you said, it doesn't seem built for completionist like they said
yup for me its the free blueprints it would be fun if there are events where you get swarmed by tanks and helicopters and steal those vehicles for a ride
I feel like it's built for completionist in mind. Considering there's 5 tiers of missions along with weapon cases and the m13 achievable. Almost seems like they had completionist in mind only.
I legit just unlocked the skin and it took my soul. Constant exfil campers, Bots w/ Chris Kyle aim, game crashes and bullshit. The skin was so worth the brain cells tho
In my eyes they have something SO good here if they take the right steps. I've been really enjoying every aspect of mw2 personally and have put an ungodly amount of hours into mp and dmz. With a few small changes that I'm sure they will make it will be 100x better, and I already have a blast squad filling and just helping people out with weapons/quests and wiping out squads. Assimilation has to be one of the most innovative mechanics COD has added in a long time. They're in pretty early on the extraction genre and I truly believe they have a real gem on their hands with the right moves Edit: forgot to say this is a good overall look at the gamemode and all of your criticisms are very fair. You always have the most grounded videos when they pop up on my feed.
I agree full stop, especially on the safe house thing. Hitman 3 is actually incorporating something just like that into a new “Freelance” mode coming out in a few months, it looks insanely fun to just fill the walls with things you brought back on your runs to use in the future. But to be fair, Tarkov doesn’t have meaningful progression because of its constant wipes. Nothing is ever saved, so does it ever really mean anything? And you put way too much effort into the subtitles, as always. Appreciate that, man.
In Tarkov you feel the pressure, you dont "want" to loose your gear. lvl6 armor and good gun+ammo matters, getting killed if you dont have much in your stash could set you back 3-4 hours if you are not experienced. I love tarkov wipes- each tarkov wipe I take vacation and grind until I reach lvl 42 where I unlock all the traders. Depending how much I have time to play, it will usually take 1-2 months after which I quit until the next wipe. For me, Tarkov is best gaming experience I have ever had.
Silly question maybe but perhaps if someone could tell me being a non-tarkov player what the point is of even going in with your good gear in the first place just to risk losing it? Seems easier to just go in naked and look for stuff to bring back. What do you get for risking all those hours of work?
@@TubeOfLaughes going in with good stuff increases your chances of getting out and letting you progress faster. you have a way higher chance of getting your hands on an item in a high traffic area that you need for a quest if you come in geared and beeline for it with better items and positioning than your opponents
I find a few good things like gives you time to explore the map with out risk of being picked off or when you just want to do casual play and unlocking guns without buying the game
Not sure if I'm disappointed or impressed the end to the 20th didn't transition to the Skyrim opening. As always, amazing video, S0ur! Love your content
it's funny cause I found the comments I left in this video back in November 2022, now we're almost in November 2023 and I haven't played the game since, for a lot of reasones, like the NickMercs drama about "leave children alone", Activision starting to add Pay-2-win operators for DMZ, plus all of the mission from season 1 were reset by them in Season 2. A lot of us didn't feel like doing everything again & left the game untouched. A friend insisted me recently, so I decided to give it a shot again after 1 year of inactivity & it's mostly the same, a mode mostly used to unlock new weapons (from previous season Battle Passes) by extracting them (to avoid grinding the challenges). Some things changed tho, like now they give you perks for exfilling in a row? a workbech? there's a mastery camo for DMZ? there's a wallet you need to unlock apparently? there's different types of vests? you can unlock a self-revive kit so you can start matches with it? there are 3-4 maps instead of 1? the "invite to team" feature now it's only 4 people max, instead of 6 max like before? Still I feel like it should be a pve mode, that's the route they're gonna take with MW3 "MWZ" after all, who knows if they'll end up shutting down DMZ after MW3 comes out
Great video, you got a new sub! 17:17 Thank you! I've been fuming over this UI Dear ex-Hulu UI designer, your reputation truly precedes you...whoever you are xD The weapon camo UI is the same except instead of vertical scrolling...it's horizontal....bruh. I felt exactly like this guy until I played 40-50 games. Now I love it, but he is right on a lot of the issues. I wish there was a way to take out some gear or cash to stock pile. That would be so sweet.
The weapons level up over time in DMZ, Warzone, and MW2 without killing anything with them, just having the weapon equipped to one of your slots counts
Sour I really enjoy your videos no matter what you post and I like your thumbnails even more. Have a great experience with cod if you buy it and if not, enjoy anything else brother❤
I would’ve liked a day and night cycle or even a day and night map of warzone like what they did in Hunt Showdown. I also would’ve liked another “on soldier” slot for NVG’s.. maybe they add a bunker with a very rare key to open it. And u can get NVG’s so that way u can use them for darker areas. Just something to keep in mind. And also it would give u an extra gear fear if ur like me. I would definitely be mad if I died with rare NVG’s and a large backpack and a 3 plate armor. I think they have a good foundation but they can definitely add more life improvements for the future. Like why do we have batteries in the game and cant use em to charge ur flashlight or NVG’s?. just simple things they can add to fix the problem. Maybe more bosses with unique blueprints like the “Health Hazard” (That was a fun boss to kill) Or even better.. just add zombies in some sections of the map and call like a Dead Zone or something idk.. but they have endless opportunities to make this mode better. What ideas you guys have instead? I’m very interested and I’m happy to hear some ideas from you guys.
You’ve probably seen this is in other comments and news but one thing severely lacking from DMZ is the survival aspect introduced in the campaign. There are so many amazing ideas the campaign took a risk with that worked surprisingly well that DMZ is a perfect match for but that IW just decided to exclude for some reason. Fully agree with you, DMZ has a ton of potential but they need to fix some critical core issues soon before it could become a main game mode to rival WZ or MP.
A out game economy would be the best thing for longevity but my fav thing about DMZ is the sandbox nature of it giving me the tools to make my own adventure
I like the dmz mode. Its got the co op fun of warzone but not as sweaty. Fighting over extracts has given me many exciting moments. Its a casual game for people like me with jobs. But, i loved this video and all your criticisms are valid!
Your first spawn was one of the best you can get btw. If you go into that first area you were shooting that far away dude that didn't respond, there's a tonne of high tier loot.
Your music choices make me want to recommend that you watch the Music Medley of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl that Dr. Pez just released. Also, quality content as always. I miss COD s0ur, but you should obviously only make the content you want to make! This video was fun and chill though, so if more can come out of this, great!

Thank you for the video. Don’t remember how I found you, but always love your different take on the game. I agree with the whole cash thing, they should make it to if you have a certain amount of cash, you could buy an operator skin, or weapon skin, or maybe even a calling card, or an emblem.
black ops 1 had an in-game economy. it was one of the best, most-innovative features and made the party modes that much more fun! i agree an economy for this mode is needed.
watching you play reminds me how bad i am at this game 🤣 i extracted like 2 times and it was very intense but i cant do it without talking to team mates but i usually play solo
Besides having been a serial pub grinder until Vanguard, I'm mostly into CoD as a controller esport. Most heartbreaking thing about this years installment is how the devs essentially hold competitive hostage for no reason. There's a 25 million dollar buy-in franchise league, yet IW just refuses to even let us have red dots in private matches. Really, I could deal with CoDs downwards spiral if we didn't have Infinity Ward games. Vanguard had a lot of problems but it at least had a good movement system and actually gave me dopamine playing $8s or frying in Ranked play (VG honestly had the best system for ranked we've had since WW2). Treyarch always tends to come through. Cold War was mid but feels like a godsend compared to MW19 or MWII. It might be time to move on as it feels like comp is on its last legs, with Scump retiring after this year and Infinity Ward being given a 2-year cycle for Joe Cecot to enact his high school-tier revenge fantasies on those bullie- uh I mean good players. The issue is; what other controller esports are there really to switch to? Apex seems fun and offers a deep movement system with near-unlimited individual outplay potential which is exactly what I'm looking for, but I just hate BRs especially in a competitive setting. Halo just seems dead in the water with the lack of content and long offseason. Gears just officially died with competitive support fully having ended after their final championship. Maybe xDefiant will be good. Maybe. Thanks for the good times S0ur. Always appreciated the content, also the stuff besides guides like veteran campaign runs. You're not just "the challenge guy" or "the XP guy" to a large part of your audience. A lot of people come here just because we enjoy the stuff you put out. Excited for what you'll do in the future.
There should be a bank account for your character where you can buy guns and attachments with money you earn in DMZ, on top of the experience and levels you earn through using the guns. Maybe in-game cash for skins for your character and weapons which would in turn open up character customization. Having an actual armory along with the firing range and an hideout aside that stuff can also be purchased for as well as to show off achievements, like medals and trophies, would make DMZ a legendary game. But they won't do this because they already sell skins and shit for real money in an limited form. Purchasing vehicle stuff too would be nice but at the absolute minimum they should let you keep the cash you earn and give you an option to pay to refresh your insured weapon slots. Like when you lose it and get locked out, instead of playing a match to lower the timer, actually keeping the money from every match and having an option to pay to end the timer totally or just pay to lower it by intervals would be nice. Actually, it would be cool if they gave you two or three more insured slots that you can pay a large lump of cash for would be awesome. You have the faction mission slots but three more that would / could cost, say, 1 million for the first then 5 million and 10 million for the final, but it locks out your weapon choices depending category or perk choices. Say you pick a sniper for your primary faction slot, for the paid for slots you can't pick another sniper or even an large weapon unless you have purchased an overkill perk, which wouldn't even otherwise effect gameplay, but even then you can't run the same weapon or weapon type. It would make you use pistols more as a secondary, though ingame you should and could still pick up any weapon you come across. Just when you finish the match and get back to game start area it will block you from carrying so that you either have to stash or destroy it. Being able to use in game cash to buy key and gun storage as well would be great.
Yo what version of Dire Dire Docks did you use during short swim toward the beginning of the video? Your music choice was on point the whole video but I would like to find that version of the song if it's not too much to ask
@@S0ur Absolute legend, thanks S0ur! Seriously the way you narrated this video was hilarious. Like a documentary of the most laid back operator in the DMZ. You rock man, thanks for the laughs
Hey sour, Just wanted to say I think its funny you thought you were super negative at 40:29. I really thought you were just saying that you see potential in the mode but that it wasn't really finished. And maybe negative in the sense that you don't think it will be finished. Overall I have been impressed with the in game moments; They have been fun the bots have been mostly fun and its more casual then BR. and completely underwhelmed with the out of game experience. I cant decide what backpack to bring or buy anything. I cant see a progression to anything other then the missions. Even just giving me a number : how much money you have extracted. Would at least be something I can see. Anyways hope you are doing well. How do you like the Scarlet / Violet?
Hah yeah, I guess I felt like I just had a "I expected this to be boring" tone, and someone who was enjoying it would be thinking I'm impossible to please or just trying to complain. Enjoying the Pokemon for sure, obviously they deserve all the complaints about the performance issues, but it's just fun, I love seeing all the new stuff and I mainly look forward to the competitive scene where those issues are irrelevant.
You know what the sad truth, Warzone 2 and DMZ is basically a massive map full of the 6v6 maps with the exception of some with actually more maps that we don't have access too, yet warzone is free and people that paid for cod are locked with basic maps. Now sorry if this is confusing but basically to me in my mind most people have been f**ked raw, and more content is actually available for the free version of the game. The single player and co-op modes are not worth £60. Madness that no one talks about this.... Anyways on a happy note, this video was sick man laughed a lot you are so sarcastic it's too good.
Awesome video, thanks for sharing your thoughts. Also, did you actually take the time to write out the transcript for proper subtitles? Much appreciated!
I did like plunder, it was effectively multiplayer on a big map. DMZ is similar, but against bots and really not as fun. This is for those that thought plunder of all things was too much for them and wanted something even slower…
as a plunder player this mode is just frustrating enaugh to be annoying and I found br to be better for grinding anyway. The only god moments were when someone dropped an m13 and when i dropped an m13 for someone else
I haven't enjoyed a cod in about 8 years, with the only exception of MWR, hopefully next year they fill the gap with a MUCH NEEDED remaster, because let's face it they can't make good maps anymore
Didn't realize you werent coming back to COD. I only play the IW ones and was excited for you Camo grind vids. Oh well! I will continue to love you vids in whatever direction you head!
Great video again s0ur, you might have mentioned this in previous videos but do you have any direction you want to take the content now your staying clear of modern warfare i i
Thanks. Guess it sorta came up in the mwii video, but yeah nothing specific I'm trying to change to, not trying to be rushing out coverage for any game. Basically just what I've been doing all year, not trying to be a huge channel, just playing some games now and then, some classic cod stuff, any challenge I think could be interesting or fun.
Honestly I've had a lot of fun in the DMZ. Especially playing solo, getting marked for a hunt contract and taking on teams of 3. It's def more casual than warzone but there can be some super sweaty moments.
I wish this mode would be more like hunt showdown where you need to find clues to find a boss kill that boss maybe download some intel and then extract while other players see where you are on some device they all have. I personally love this game but everybody loves something else :)

black ops 1 had an in-game economy. it was one of the best, most-innovative features and made the party modes that much more fun! i agree an economy for this mode is needed.
I did wonder if I was missing something from the hour or 2 I played. Turns out there is just not a lot to do yet.
"He lied about being part of the solution" - Man that got me good.
27:40 the Pokemon music blasted me with nostalgia
"Freshly converted cod hater" hes just like me fr
Fr fr
watching you play reminds me how bad i am at this game 🤣 i extracted like 2 times and it was very intense but i cant do it without talking to team mates but i usually play solo
I love the Mario Kart DS Kalimari Desert OST on the BG
Yes!!!
This is unfortunate that he may not cover it M, but let's see.
Yesss!!! A new Sour video love to see it :D
Great storyteller 👌🏼😎
Yo what version of Dire Dire Docks did you use during short swim toward the beginning of the video? Your music choice was on point the whole video but I would like to find that version of the song if it's not too much to ask
Np, it's a rendition by "WBAP"
@@S0ur Absolute legend, thanks S0ur! Seriously the way you narrated this video was hilarious. Like a documentary of the most laid back operator in the DMZ. You rock man, thanks for the laughs
Reminded me of watching the Lukethenotable fortnite videos before the game went ballistic. Thank you for that feeling again
Hey sour,
Just wanted to say I think its funny you thought you were super negative at 40:29.
Love that gen 3 music in the background haha
Just discovered your channel and the way you talk is so great
Subscribing now
Armored TSA part cracked me up 😂
the “im going to be super racist” had me dead 😂😂
Awesome video, thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Also, did you actually take the time to write out the transcript for proper subtitles? Much appreciated!
I did like plunder, it was effectively multiplayer on a big map. DMZ is similar, but against bots and really not as fun. This is for those that thought plunder of all things was too much for them and wanted something even slower…
"what a loser" story of my life thanks Sour
as a plunder player this mode is just frustrating enaugh to be annoying and I found br to be better for grinding anyway.
Such a good video format #ouf
Didn't realize you werent coming back to COD. I only play the IW ones and was excited for you Camo grind vids. Oh well! I will continue to love you vids in whatever direction you head!
the smile on my face seeing this notification
I loved every second of this. Top tier video S0ur.
Basically just what I've been doing all year, not trying to be a huge channel, just playing some games now and then, some classic cod stuff, any challenge I think could be interesting or fun.
fun fact the UI was designed my tbe person who made hulu’s it works for scrolling through shows, not for selecting things in call of duty
Your really funny you had me giggling right through the video
I wouldve loved camo guides but this works too :)
I get you not really liking cod nowadays but man, you make such enjoyable content
We will be watching 👀 I know i'm gonna be good!
Lol did not expect that. Be careful with those. 4:25
XD
Ah man, I love pokemon music you used!!! at 8:49.
Honestly I've had a lot of fun in the DMZ. Especially playing solo, getting marked for a hunt contract and taking on teams of 3. It's def more casual than warzone but there can be some super sweaty moments.
Finally missed your reviews
You mixing sweet calming pokemon music with the ultimate stress of MW2 is hurting my brain
That Mario 64 water tune... Nice.
Great video. Would be good if you could use the money you earn to make a 10 attachment weapon eventually
I wish this mode would be more like hunt showdown where you need to find clues to find a boss kill that boss maybe download some intel and then extract while other players see where you are on some device they all have.
I personally love this game but everybody loves something else :)
I am curious to see what the roadmap will be for DMZ, it has potential but right now it's just an exp exploit simulator.
