Ronald Neame directed the 1979 American science fiction disaster movie Meteor, which starred Natalie Wood and Sean Connery. The 1967 MIT study Project Icarus served as the inspiration for the movie's plot, which centers on a group of scientists dealing with Cold War politics after they discover an asteroid is headed straight for Earth. Stanley Mann and Oscar winner Edmund H. North wrote the script.

This movie is so good that it could serve as an invitation card for both the russian and the american politics to find out if its not better to find a way to tear down the differences rather than escalating current conflicts that could lead the entire world to a new war 45 years later. I am almost 99,9% sure we as earth or humankind would never work together even to save us and earth under a deadly threat. Like we have seen by the pandemie/ or the terrible stupid wars. I may have been the last dreamer who thought we, the Germans, the Americans, China and Russians would work together to make the planet a little bit better for our kids,.ok movie

Never liked Sean Connery, large ego, bad temper and did not respect women. Rest of the movie was great.
Damn Carl's nose is distracting.. And what's the deal with the 15 minute scene of doing nothing but aligning the rockets. This could have been a 30 minute movie.
