  • Poland is modernizing its military by acquiring 180 additional K2PL tanks, enhancing its armored fleet and replacing outdated PT-91 Twardy tanks. This acquisition is part of a broader strategy to strengthen Poland’s defense capabilities, with a focus on local production. The K2PL tanks, tailored to Poland’s needs, will feature reinforced armor, advanced protection systems, and NATO-compatible ammunition. With a total of 1,000 K2 Black Panther tanks planned by 2034, Poland is boosting its military strength while supporting its defense industry. This initiative aligns with Poland's increasing defense budget and growing military presence in response to regional security challenges.

And Germany keeps sleeping on, its industrial base degrading further every day, with especially the military-orientated industries emigrating to other countries as the most recent Leonardo-Rheinmetall deal for the KF51 shows.
Those new tanks could and should have been Leopard 2 but Germany has been unwilling to boost production.

i'm pretty sure that, if you are german, you dont want to pay more taxes for that. and it is very common to transfer the production to the customer . it has been done for lepard2 with switzerland and with the k2 for poland. and i assume, that you dont know what you are talking about "ramping up production". for me, you are one of these , who are always complaining and have a solution, that others have to do, not you. dream further on.

Restarting the production of Leopard 2s to sell them would make for new jobs etc.
Frankly, due to my long time as a soldier and due to being a graduated economist I'm really had prest to take your arguments seriously.

germany thinks well that they will be the rear of the war, and it is necessary to prepare roads and drivers. but without an efficient army that will defend europe with poland it may be a problem. also for germany.

      Absolutely!
Germany needs to make sure its infrastructure is ready for the amount of material that will be transported.
But Germany is also the most populous country, and thus, its allies are right in expecting German troops to defend NATO's borders. AND Germany has the potential for the industrial might to keep NATO's eastern front supplied. However, for the needed troops and the needed production, there is currently very little will, and without the will, there can be no action.

PT91 was not that bad, but it was an outdated Konstruktion, enhanced with everything that was possible and next modernisation was not possible. Poland will also resign of the already posesed Leopard 2A5. The older Versions are modernised only to 2A5PL (even here the German industry cant reach their goals, in since 2016 they managerd to upgrade only 25 from around 160 tanks), and when possible will be moved to reserve (cause in next 20 years trained reserve tankers will by mainly familiar with Leopard 2 we had). Poland will have 366 Abrams and 180(320) K2 BlackPanther. When everything will go right ther will by K2PL (at least 600-1000), and if not mayby even more Abrams. That will by the core land power, 4-5 Panzer Divisions. Nice.
