Love the winter and cold but I live in Canada. We live on a large farm which we bought years ago in winter. Very little heat, no running water, and out house. It was cold inside but we survived and so did our kids. Fast forward 36 years later and place is all fixed up.
To me youv lived a much richer life than most, your family will know the true struggles of trying to stay warm n heating homes with wood/coal fires ect a much harder way of life but so much more rewarding 🙏🏼👍
I’ve spent many a winter in a camper your size. I did like you …insulated the windows, had propane and electric heat sources. Very smart on the tank hook up for the Mr. Buddy. You are probably more prepared in that camper than a lot of people are in big homes. 😊 Enjoy this time season of your life. It becomes precious memories later❤
I honestly feel less stressed than when I had a house in these conditions! I have a better set up with all the propane if the power goes out. And heating a small space is so much easier than a big house! Several years ago in TN we had and ice storm with similar temps - power was out for days and I ended up in a hotel with the kids because we couldn’t stay warm in our bigger house 🥶
“Hi” to Falcon! He is soooo adorable. You and your husband look like you’ve done everything right. I just love watching your adventure! Stay warm!❤ I’m in central NC! Freezing, and you can keep the Tennessee snow!❄️
Falcon is soooooo cute. Their little "hi's" were adorable. while it's super cold, it looks beautiful out on the farm! your locks have gotten so long too!
Such an amazing landscape with the snow. I do miss having chances of snow, but hopeful the cold air that is about to hit NE Florida might squeeze out a flake or two because of the rain we are having today, lol. It is suppose to go below freezing here tonight so we will see. Hope you guys stay safe and warm!
@@raisingwildflowers Yes it does, down to 29 this morning with windchill of 20, good thing I have a day of cooking ahead of me, I can stay nice and warm. ☺
Please stay safe and be warm. Love you all. OMG, Falcon is so adorable. He likes his hummus so much it made him fall down. lol! Seems like you have prepared well for the frigid weather. Looks like the snowcream is a hit! 🙂

Nice cozy camper for just you, your hubby , son, cat & dog . Not enough comfortable space for 5 people though if you are going to be stuck in there a lot in my opinion. So just as well your older girls opted out.
I live in Maryville so I’m pretty sure I’m close by to you. It snowed 9 inches at my house so I was actually thinking about you guys and worrying. Thank you for posting this video!
Hi Katie 🌻 Thanks for posting and I will keep you and your family in my prayers 💕 Here in Pennsylvania we got 5 inches of snow and now it's 18 degrees ☃️ Be safe 🌟
I thought this video was going to just be practical tips for staying warm. What a nice surprise to have it vlog style with a cozy dinner, dessert, and your baby's first snow! So sweet! It has been very cold in Wyoming with temperatures as low as -30. Not nearly as much snow in our city, though.
I grew up in CT and there snow is no big deal with the salt trucks and the homes are built to deal with the below zero temps. Living in TN when it snows is not easy. All the faucets have to be dripping so the pipes do not freeze, all the cabinet doors have to be open where the pipes are to let the what in, every where is closed and no one can drive because if the ice. All my kids went sledding and Ofcourse we got rid of our winter gear when we moved 7 years ago. Sneakers and lots of layers it is. I remember why I have the snow so much since we also got 8 inches here in nashville. I am taking care of my friends chickens while they are gone. Even they will not leave the coop. Stay warm!!!! Falcon is the sweetest boy love how much you all enjoy him. What a great family .
Falcon is so sweet, thank you for sharing his snow adventure. I am in Michigan it's very cold tonight wind chill will be -15 to-20 and we have snow, stay warm .
Do not sit your buddy heater on the counter. It will heat the ceiling to hot. We have ours on milk crate on the floor. (Even when our son was little like yours, we just taught him it was hot and kept an extra eye on him during that time).
Your baby is SO CUTE!! My partner and I have been living in a 5th wheel for more than 6 years now in the Sierras in northern California. We have electric heat and propane heaters. Our generator is gas-powered. You can depend on the electric going off for days whenever it snows. For us, that also means no water. So we keep water on hand as well as plenty of gasoline for the generator. We do OK in the cold, you just have to bundle up and keep the propane heater on. We are doing the opposite. I have just bought a house and we are moving in a few days; will be selling the 5th wheel.
So admire you and your family! You just make it work! Awesome! Your little one is adorable loved seeing him with his Dad watching tv. Good luck with the cold temps! We live in Canada southern Ontario so we know the cold!
I think you prepared well for the cold! This is a compliment coming from Finland (Helsinki -17 C /1 F at the moment). Our car has winter tyres, it would be masocistic (and illegal) to drive without them. You chose wizely to stay at the safety of your home.
I live in Oregon and we are expecting our 2nd ice storm this afternoon. We had snow ice mix on Saturday all day in below freezing temps. Our driveway is a solid sheet of ice! We should start our thaw tomorrow. Stay warm and safe!
Enjoy the snow ! It's just a beautiful white day there I sure hope our Polar Vortex don't make you to cold there with the baby in the camper, We have had a 10 day straight blast from the north pole lol ! Night temps -45 to -51c , Lots of firewood in the wood box & not many outside chores going to get done for a few days, Stay safe & warm friends ,
So fun to see Falcon's reaction to snow and snow cream! Stay warm! We didn't get much snow, but it's been below zero for several days. Finally got up to around 11 today.
You should watch my video of the vista heater / stove it’s on my ( cabin life at Eden springs) channel. We got 8 inches in west Tennessee and the vista heater is amazing. I turned off our big fireplace and I’m just using the canned heat vista heater. They said that rolling black ours will start on Wednesday if the power consumption is too great. So the vista heater will keep us warm with canned heat. And of corse we have buddy heaters and propane burner to use inside. LA
Love the Paw Patrol hat on Falcon, looks so warm and toasty. Can’t blame teenagers wanting either the warmth of Florida or to be in town. I love lentils, yum. Never had snow cream, sound delicious. Is your hummus home made? Is so easy to make. I love it.
our snow storm played out the same way..total after 2 full days of snow we ended up with around the 8 inch mark..schools and most local businesses are still closed and probably will be most the week 🙃
This is a dumb question but do the horses and chickens and goats go in the barn? I did not see them when you went outside. Where to they go when it gets deeper? Just curious, may not be any of my business but just wondering.
I stayed in a similar rig once during cold months; here are my (unsolicited, sorry 😉) tips: 1) I recycled Ikea table/desk tops and just placed them against the walls. They have two layers with a honeycomb paper frame inside. It insulated quite well. 2) I had all my pipes insulated under the floor 3) when it was freezing I would let the faucets drip a bit, as long as there is a constant flow they cannot freeze 4) I also had several heaters, but also carbon monoxide, gas and fire alarms. Do ventilate. 5) I hung a little blanket curtain in front of the door 6) learned the hard way that the steps before the door accumulated a little heap of snow, that froze and then I couldn’t get out. So I moved the steps a bit away
Actually the Buddy model is freaking amazing for no emissions. I keep a carbon monoxide detector next to mine, as does my brother with his a state away, and neither one of us has ever had it register anything.
