Because he forgot to switch back from the HiGain-Preamp (light 4 at the Patchmate) to the Plexi (light 1 at the Patchmate). What we hear is always the HiGain. Well, it's all about showbiz :-)))
The valvesonics have yet to materialize. I wonder if it's because the designer ripped of the circuitry from Marshall, Vox and Fender, and is worried about getting sued? Also, the lack of MIDI on a $600 pre-amp is lame. They do sound good, especially the Marshall one. I have loads of Rack pre-amps (Tri-axis, ADAs, Voodu valve) and would maybe add this - if they ever release it. Perhaps rack guitar gear isn't making a comeback after all :-)

Guitar Paul you do realize that Jim Marshal copied Fender and Fender got it from Western Electric
I think they sound great. They are giving you some great guitar tones. The sound on this demo isn't as good as others I have heard eg TTK.
There's too many preamps that give you all these plus some others in one unit.
