Thanks, this was the best video on this topic! My alarm would go off randomly and got worse the past few days where it would go off a few times an hour in the night (I think the temperature dropping it affected it). Hey bro, my tailgate open warning light stays on but the tailgate is closed. Is this the same problem with the sensor also. I can't use the fob to lock the car but I could unlock it only. I have a 2008 acura MDX. Is there a sensor on the tailgate?
@@RBTheMechanic Thanks for your response. After spending many hours with the car. I found the culprit to the problem of my tailgate open warning light staying on when tailgate is securely closed. The latch is fine. The problem is in the rear fuse/Auxiliary box on the left side if looking at the back side of the tailgate. You will see some regular mini fuses and below it you will see two slot connections. I noticed mine was wet like water has leaked into it. Very important, when I unplug the top slot socket, the turning signal,SH-AWD,center console instrument lights, Shift lights, unlock and lock button, rear latch, dashboard warnings, all key fob functions, and possibly others will not work. So, When I vacuum out all the water and dried it out, I looked at the bottom of the socket plug and saw there have been some short-circuiting residue. There was a pin broken from the slot that was shorting out other pins and I'm thinking that's my signal to the tailgate open warning light and it was flickering due to the water. So my car alarm was coming on and off because of that whole moisture problem and the broken pin. I don't know what that broken pin connects to but when I plugged the socket back in the slot, everything worked perfectly. No intermittent alarm waking up the neighbors. Anyway, already wrote a book. This recently started happening to my 2018 RDX. Out of the blue, no rhyme or reason. I turned off the lock when walk away features and slapped in my Bluedriver scan tool. Got the same issue last winter. My 2012 Acura TL' s alarm goes off many times a day. Went to the Acura dealership, they replaced a switch on rear passenger's door, $200, but it didn't help at all. Went to the Honda dealership this time, they suggested to disable the connections between that door and computer (I don't know how they did it, but it cost $470 and 2 weeks). Then everything goes well. Last week, I found that the alarm can be triggered by trunk :( Sometimes when I open the trunk by the key, alarm goes off, and the light in the trunk keep flashing. Feel so bad:(

My 2003 Honda Accord 2 dr, V6 is having alarm issues but it's whenever I do anything with it. The key fob has been dead for a long time but whenever I use the key to open the door it goes off, when I start the car it goes off, When I turn the car off as soon as I open the door it goes off. Things I've done is take out the alarm fuse while I'm trying to figure this out. I replaced an old battery hoping that would help but it didn't. I have an Acura RDX 2016. The alarm keeps going off and it says check blindsport system. Which should I try first to get the alarm off? It goes off when entering and exiting. I have to use the key manually.
I’m not sure if it’s related to blind spot system but check all door sensor also u can put the key in door lock cylinder turn it twice to disable it could help
@@RBTheMechanic thank you!
Thank you been looking for a solution!!
I have a 07 honda pilot ,when it rains it comes on ,I removed the hood sensor, now after removing the negative of the battery, the car alarm goes of offer like 5 minutes, all the time ,now I have to leave the car unlock so the alarm won't go off
Yeah u can disconnect one of the sensors off the door it will work ask if car door is open try that trick as well
Having the same problem with my 2010 MDX, I disconnected the hood sensor, hopefully it will fix it lol
Oh ok yeah most of the time it’s the hood latch sensor so good luck!! Update me
@@RBTheMechanic thanks for the reply! I will update you. Your video really helped, was accurate, simple, and straight to the point :)
@@RBTheMechanic worked perfectly, no more 3 am alarms 🥳 I’m so happy it was so easy to fix it
Did this alarm still goes off
Nope
@@RBTheMechanic I meant it does for me still after doing this
@@kingdavid2363 do key unlock or lock from door lock cylinder 2 times each way
Hey my Acura TL key won’t go in,so I opened it with a hanger then the alarm goes off. But I can’t stop it bc the key doesn’t work so I had to unhook the battery
But it’s still going off
U gotta get the cylinder replaced I’m not sure if u can disable the alarm any other way. Check for fuses for anti theft pull it out and try see if ur truck has cylinder that would work also
My driver side door lock won't let me unlock it so the alarm keep going off when I enter the vehicle
Is it bad acuator try turning the key in the cylinder 2 times lock and unlock. Or lock lock unlock. Or lock lock unlock unlock
Hello, my windows don’t work, can you help me please,
All don’t work ? Check fuses
Feel so bad:(
Yeah this type of problem is difficult to track down some time it’s just a movement in the switch ..
You should not have to pay that much for an alarm such a scam
I have a 2007 Honda Accord with the same random alarm issue. Disconnecting the hood latch sensor did not work for me. As mentioned by RB in the comments I have also tried turning the door key back and forth multiple times with no luck. If anyone else has an idea please reply here.
Oh well each door has sensor try disabling each one at a time even trunk so tilll u figure it out which one effected it then replace that one this problem is hard to find since there’s no codes for it
My 2003 Honda Accord 2 dr, V6 is having alarm issues but it's whenever I do anything with it. I cleaned off the negative battery cable where it bolts to the car frame and that didn't help either. I replaced the key fob battery and that didn't fix it. Any ideas?
Turn the key 2 time is the lock cylinder
@@RBTheMechanic I tried that, I tried unplugging the hood latch sensor like you showed and also jumping it with a paperclip. I also went under the dash looking for an alarm unit but couldn’t find it because mine is a 2003. Nothing I’m doing is working.
@@ryanrogers8211 the model is built in so u can do nothing with that disable it by turning the key in door and then disconnect one of the sensors for the door

Try turning the key in door lock cylinder fer 2 times to unlock

I had a car alarm installed on my Honda Accord about 3 years ago. But now, it keeps going at least once a week for no apparent reason. When I took my vehicle back to the shop for inspection, the installer couldn't figure out the root cause or fix the problem. What a jackass! The alarm brand name is called Sky Tech, which is a piece of shit.
I would have it removed if it’s bother you. I have had cars that gave me hard time can’t seem to find the issue could be faulty door sensors
Stop technology we have enough
They wount stop they gonna add air sensors next lol
I had one today alarm goes off after starting the car , i had try all the ways, unplug the hood sensor and …. Any idea?
Try locking and u lock 2 times each way on door lock cylinder
