The comparisons among the SMSL DACs do not yield a conclusive result that the DO300 is superior to the others, at least in this comparison. I bought the DO100 and after auditioning it in my system, I was totally disappointed on how it created a soundscape/stage/resolution...and I found that it did not better my 8 year old Peachtree DAC. This American designed DAC has a wholesome and more realistic sonic presentation than the SMSL. The SMSL sounded too disjointed in the frequency bands - bottom, mids, and high frequencies and the images presented did not congeal into one continuous soundscape. After listening to these comparisons, I am strongly convinced the higher priced SMSLs exhibit the same shortcomings and the SMSL company may be just slapping in new chips as they become available hoping they will hit something ( as we can see with their new or upgraded products almost every month) without tuning their DACs to sound musical.
Hi. I sold a DO200 recently and kept the D300. Any chance the DO300 is such a step up that it's compelling enough for one to jump back into this series again?
@Geekology I agree wholeheartedly that the DO300 makes a big difference. It's putting the DO100 and HO100 in the office to shame. If this is the shape of things to come, I look forward to the day a DO300 caliber DAC can be shrunk into a DO100 case and be had for $200 or below.
What is the difference between DO300 and SU9 Pro. Power Supply, Chips.....? if not accept I2S, AES/EBU interfaces in DO300.

They make music sound beautiful, with world class speakers or headphones of course
