Just had my new M2 MacBook Air , base model, Space Gray two weeks ago.......as an average user, this beast is more than enough for me for the next 5 years or beyond..... hope you will enjoy your new toy.....
@Y A Honestly it just depends on your use case. For me I’m mainly just using my base model m2 air for school and the 256gb is more than enough for the school related apps and files I’ll be saving on it. If you’re planning on using it as your main multimedia device and plan on saving a lot to it or if you’re doing work that requires saving large files then I’d recommend upgrading the storage. Honestly if this is something you’re gonna stress about after purchasing the base model then I’d say just upgrade the storage for peace of mind.
This is not completely true, the 256gb version of the SSD is way slower (about 1000MB/s) than the 512gb & 1024gb (and M1 256gb) on the M2 version. You should NEVER buy the base model of Air M2 because of this. But in OP case, yes it won't really be a change (a few % improvement at most because of M2 vs M1).
@@Rachel-bo1me Rubbish.I’ve had Space Grey MacBooks 💻 for years and have never had that issue.Midnight is a nice colour but an absolute fingerprint magnet 🧲🧲🧲🧲
Midnight is cool but is also a huge fingerprint magnet and worst of all, it chips around the usb c ports. Looks ugly after a months of use. Space grey or silver until they perfect midnight. Also, with midnight, something about it makes it look like a windows laptop
I am sad that case is not same seggsi as on mac air m1. But screen is much nicer in the m2 without much plastic around. I am just wondering if I should now go for used m1 or wait till prices drop for used m2 because I love design of m1 but display of m2… hard choice

@Y A if you have budget, go for 16GB RAM as storage can be added externally using SSD external storage enclosure…. 500GB, 1Tb ….

You should have gone with 16gb RAM because the operation speed is related to the RAM and not SSD (STORAGE)
