My daughter and I saw him in Northampton Mass back in 2006. We got to meet him and hang out with him after. He was just a nice, sweet guy..Played good music and enjoyed chatting with us, wanted to know where we were from, and he appreciated us going to his show and talking with him. Super humble and friendly.
Sean seems to be a genuine gentle soul. He enjoys his music and is a kind and caring human being. He is gifted in his own right, and his gifts stand alone from his famous fathers. He touches me as a lovely character of a man. Being kind is the most important gift we can have, and Sean has that in abundance.
He's got that recognizable nasal vibrato of his dad and those crooning cries of his mom. So strange how we can sound like our parents. It's weird enough how we look like them :)
This is not bad at all. Very imaginative piece of music. His voice is not nearly as 'bad' as so many keep rambling on about. It's not his dad's voice, but that's okay because it's his...
stop judging him by yoko. He was as innocent as Julian, they had no choice in the way their lives journeyed. let him be his on person, and he does have talent.
@@cynthiabaxter6936 hahaha you have to know what talent is or you can't spot it sometimes. This a really cool complicated and well written song. If you don't understand music theory you might not understand why some of the musical movements are doing what they're doing. I think he sang great too. He was probably influenced on this one by elliot smith in the way he sings. But what a cool guy too what a weird thing to question his talent. Check out his other project goastt it's phenomenal just strictly looking at the music. And by the way he's a fully trained musician so unless you are maybe you don't know ;)
If you step outside for a moment and think if you heard him play an open mic or some other gig not knowing his back story, you'd probably think oh, this guy is playing some cool stuff. Because he is good, it's so obnoxious to endlessly compare him to his dad I mean come on... The only people you can even try to compare John Lennon to are his fellow Beatles ;) And even there I wouldn't go into "X was a better songwriter than Y", because they were all different people and all were great at what they did.
good song.. not easy at all being compared all the time with John Lennon, frustrating must be.. and hard for a musician who just wanna play his music.. so he´s so brave for being there, still doing his own music and I think he does well..
Sean came hard on this one. Brilliant song , brilliant performance. I rate this because what he done in front of a live audience was not easy, being the son of the late great John Lennon. Anything else is just biasedness because of his mother, which isn't Sean's fault. Stop hating on him and being a devil.
Plus it's insane that any true beatles fan would have any animous toward yoko. Like if you know the slightest bit about the beatles break up you know she wasn't the reason at all. They all have said that. Imagine how trivial it would have been for them to keep going. Them breaking up when they did is one of the coolest things about them. Imagine they were all alive and did a reunion. It would be fun but how corny would it be. Theyre just so far ahead of any of that. They didn't invent rock but they absolutely changed how the music industry would work just by writing their own originals and how they wrote them.
@bradiohead this was on his birthday oct 09, 2006 actually it was Sharon Osbourne's b-day as well and Sean's dad John Lennon all have the same birthday
Sean Lennon is amazing. His style is very different from his father, but I think it makes it great that he has created his own path. I randomly found one of his albums at the local library and it is one of my favorite albums of all time. The album is Into The Sun and is crazy good in my opinion.
I just found out about Sean last night I was watching walk hard on RUclips and the Beatles part cam up so I looked up John and this vid pop up with Sean it's my second time watching this vid I'm buy this song on iTunes this man has a talent
I first heard Sean do this acoustic version on Italian TV. The audience applauded when he told them about a girlfriend he'd had from Padua. The MC asked him about his dad. "Well, he died when I was five, so I really only know him from his music." To which the audience applauded again. I could tell he was nonplussed by this, but then realized they meant well. His falsetto at the end is spine-tingling, as are some of the chords he plays.
The album Friendly Fire I didn’t give it a fair chance when it was released but I later got into its fantastic - one of my favorite albums. Every song is good which is unusual for any album.
@MarquesGuitar I noticed his chord progressions too. They were really striking. This wasn't just blind strumming but a full understanding of the guitar. He will remain his own musician. Refreshing.
im glad he brought something new. sucks that with all these awful pop, techno, and generic screamo bands are ruining the legacy music created from this man's father and every other great artist that left us.
Sean is a talented young man. He is a young musician. I can assure he is going to be great in his own style. Give him a chance ! Let him express his own creation...
I love Sean. Such a sweet guy and he has so much talent. I don't care what anyone says. I think his voice is great. TBH I'm a little put off by all the breakup lyrics on Friendly Fire, but I think the music and singing is great. And Midnight Sun is on a whole other level.
Do I look like a teenager. I don't even know who Megan is and no, I don't like Taylor. Learn to accept that everyone has different tastes and that it doesn't mean someone is wrong if they like what you don't.
What else can I say to you Sean it's been said a hundred times both Negative and Positive. But knowing your not John's son at least somebody with a great talent then, YOU'RE A GENIUS!
He’s being true to himself both Sean and Julian remind me of the musical journey of the neil Finns sons Elroy really stripped back and Julian more orchestration but equally as hypnotic In there own write & more importantly different to there dads legacy able to be counted in there own right times a wonderful thing it allows objectivity
I never cared much for Sean's music but have to say this was pretty good. I do of course have to point out how he said to Sharon in the clip before this when she tells him to go perform, that he hopes to cheer her up by doing so, then proceeds to play dead meat which is pretty dark and melancholy lol.
I'LL BE HONEST I REALLY DIDN'T LIKE THAT VERY MUCH TIL IT GOT TO ABOUT THE 1:42 MARK (after he sings the words "This isn't a game"_- & THEN IT REALLY STARTED TO KICK OFF & WENT IN A DIFFERENT DIRECTION & REALLY PULLED ME IN. THEN THE WHOO_ING. ... HE REALLY PULLED ME IN.. THEN I LOVED IT! . NOW I REWINDING IT TO PLAY IT AGAIN.
@binoculord I so agree. I am a huge fan of both Julian and Sean. To me, it's amazing how great they both are. Julian has a gorgeous voice and his music is beautiful. And Sean is just an amazing musician and has such a knack for gorgeous melodies and hooks. I really think it's incredible, and I'm sorry they both got tons from John. He was the top of the top, so it makes sense if his offspring would benefit from such genes.
This is my first time seeing and listening to this guy and I'm sorry to say Simon would never put him through any of his shows. Maybe the sad backround story of his parents might get him through to the next round but not by much. I was around when his father and the band he was in first landed in America so for those of you assuming I'm too young to know good singers forget it. I was just never interested in the Lennons as a whole but seriously I think he is presented a pass just because of who his father is. Something like Lisa Marie. Sorry to his fans but this is my opinion and I stand by it.
*APPLAUSE* Both Sean & Julian show their talent when they play their songs acoustically. Both are VERY talented in their own right & shouldn't be compared to their dad. Although, I think their dad would be very proud of what both of them have accomplished musically & otherwise. :)
You should check out Ghost of A Saber Tooth Tiger, it's Sean's band with his girl friend/fiance I saw them open for The Flaming Lips at the Ryman in Nashville, they were awesome!
Just cause he is lennon's son doesn't mean he he John Lennon. Why would anyone think that just cause u have a father who is special u would would be special too or even half of that?
Your right its unfair to judge Sean because of who his father was and prehapes he's judged even harder because Julian is very talented but I'm guessing most people wouldn't feel his singing abilities aren't very good
My daughter and I saw him in Northampton Mass back in 2006. We got to meet him and hang out with him after. How unique, I love his voice!
I too

I really liked it. Love the chords. Great song.
He's got that recognizable nasal vibrato of his dad and those crooning cries of his mom. So strange how we can sound like our parents. It's weird enough how we look like them :)
Crooning cries of Yoko Ono...that's what ruins his voice.
Looks like him too
This is not bad at all. Very imaginative piece of music. His voice is not nearly as 'bad' as so many keep rambling on about. It's not his dad's voice, but that's okay because it's his...
he's better musician than his father
JaleelJohanson62 listen to his new song with lana del rey and u will be blown away
I agree, however I hear a lot of his dad in his voice. It’s his own but he has something similar at times. I like it.
Antonio Gabriel Jiménez Hernández no
Antonio Gabriel Jiménez Hernández Not even close.
Sean Has A Unique Voice. Keep Doing Your Thing Sean..In You're Individually Unique !.
Love this! Happy Birthday Sean!
stop judging him by yoko. He was as innocent as Julian, they had no choice in the way their lives journeyed. let him be his on person, and he does have talent.
Where is the talent?
@@cynthiabaxter6936 hahaha you have to know what talent is or you can't spot it sometimes. This a really cool complicated and well written song. sounds great, Im sure John would have loved to hear both Julian and Sean sing, plus be so proud of both of them
I love his songs and he's such an excellent musician
This is excellent music and chords and Sean is a cool composer.

... naturally .... they increase !!! Love! Yes love them thank you
Sounds exactly like the recording and I think really shows how good a musician is.
Lovely song, with a great performance! Go Sean ! Shine on !
Been listening to sean ever since Into The Sun....his voice matches his style quite well. Would love to get another solo album sometime soon
He is good. :) Love his vibrato.
Thank you Jim Green :)

Heated Debates Some people just love to hate! "What time is it? I HATE THAT TIME!" lol!:)

I love this performance, way different from his Into the Sun album. This guy has an amazing way with all the chords he uses.
Excellent song and his voice is perfect...
I love this song, it shows that Sean is a talented guy.
Just Sean and his guitar. Not many people can do this and sound so good!
@bradiohead this was on his birthday oct 09, 2006 actually it was Sharon Osbourne's b-day as well and Sean's dad John Lennon all have the same birthday
Aside from how much I love Sean: The camera work on this is not only expert, it is phenomenonal! I think actually augments the power of the song.
First time I've heard him. He's really not that bad. I like the singing and the song.
And Another Thing, with Dave oh fuck off Dave
that was amazing !
Sean Lennon is amazing. His style is very different from his father, but I think it makes it great that he has created his own path. I randomly found one of his albums at the local library and it is one of my favorite albums of all time. The album is Into The Sun and is crazy good in my opinion.

He didn't choose to be born. Stop comparing him to Julian. They're both very different.

It’s just a shame his dad wasn’t able to be around to harmonize with him once in a while. Bet they would sound great together
I don't care for this particular song, but if you've ever seen him with Les Claypool, you know he's a very versatile and highly skilled guitar player.
Sean in his Eliot Smith phase. Check out the Delirium with Claypool BRILLIANT stuff.
❤❤❤
Whoa!!! Amazing!
I'm pleasantly surprised. First time hearing him. That's a very good tune.
all these plebs hating on sean
The album Friendly Fire I didn’t give it a fair chance when it was released but I later got into its fantastic - one of my favorite albums. Every song is good which is unusual for any album.
He sings and plays alot like Elliott Smith. I like this one. Nice work Sean. Thanks for posting ryzgee.
Good performance Sean 🎸
very talented young man, there is a lot of john in him, but he is a musician in his own right (no pun intended)
@MarquesGuitar I noticed his chord progressions too. They were really striking. This wasn't just blind strumming but a full understanding of the guitar. He will remain his own musician. Refreshing.

I don't even know who Megan is and no, I don't like Taylor. Learn to accept that everyone has different tastes and that it doesn't mean someone is wrong if they like what you don't.
I really like his voice aswell and to me he sounds for like his father than Julian
Still one of my favorite albums of all time.
This sounds like Sean Lennon. Not his Mum or Dad.Thw cat has cultivated his own gig.Ans the gig s quite good.Way to go,Sean!!!
Totally he did a couple john vocal runs. But the funny thing is he sounds more like Elliot Smith than anyone lol
I LIKE IT... that's ma boy... brilliant....
This is a good song!
Great voice. Great song.
Great performance....Thanks for sharing
Fantastic!
Great voice and song
Everyone has its own style and voice. That makes you different from the others. Like Bob Dylan.
I love it. :) Nice song..
wow.. Sean really have talent!
I liked it...
What else can I say to you Sean it's been said a hundred times both Negative and Positive. But knowing your not John's son at least somebody with a great talent then, YOU'RE A GENIUS!
Sings it beautifully but the lyrics have got a very menacing way about them. He mean he starts by saying dead meat, and who you think there'll believe
He's a talented musician! The apple didn't fall far from the tree. His father would be proud.
friendly fire is a great album. he should do another!
Nice melody and sentiment!
I like it.. Nice voice kinda like his dad's...nice..his Very good looking too!
people who haven't herd sean lennon's cover of (this boy) should hear it sounds badass
Aww nice song. He is so sensitive & I sensed he was nervous. You can hear he wrote this song when very sad.
The thing is? He can *really* play. I've seen him live a couple times - would love to again.
He sounds like George Harrison more than his dad!
Agreed😎👊✌......🖖
I never cared much for Sean's music but have to say this was pretty good. I do of course have to point out how he said to Sharon in the clip before this when she tells him to go perform, that he hopes to cheer her up by doing so, then proceeds to play dead meat which is pretty dark and melancholy lol.
As I understand it her husband made a career playing dark songs so maybe she is right at home.
Unique voice.
Encantador :)
I like his voice, actually.
Awesome
Why is he playing solo? That's really the question I would have. Never knew this was out here. Get the man a band to learn from
I'LL BE HONEST I REALLY DIDN'T LIKE THAT VERY MUCH TIL IT GOT TO ABOUT THE 1:42 MARK (after he sings the words "This isn't a game"_- & THEN IT REALLY STARTED TO KICK OFF & WENT IN A DIFFERENT DIRECTION & REALLY PULLED ME IN. THEN THE WHOO_ING. ... HE REALLY PULLED ME IN.. THEN I LOVED IT! .
NOW I REWINDING IT TO PLAY IT AGAIN.
I was expecting this to suck, but it was actually pretty good.
And Another Thing, with Dave oh fuck off Dave
Ur a bit of a negative Nancy
It does suck.......
@binoculord

Deep Soul
I dunno, I really liked his signing in A Monster in Paris

unique voice, nice guitar playing he is his own musician
❤️
enorme !
This song is kinda scary! But I have to say, his falsetto is amazing!
it's a beautiful song...I just wish the lyrics went with the beautiful melody..
For the better now, babe!
*APPLAUSE* Both Sean & Julian show their talent when they play their songs acoustically. Both are VERY talented in their own right & shouldn't be compared to their dad. Although, I think their dad would be very proud of what both of them have accomplished musically & otherwise. :)
So glad he got his dads musical attributes. That said he is his own man
nice song......
He's definitely good.
Yesds שיר מדהים אח יקר
i like when he goes into the falsetto do do do
You should check out Ghost of A Saber Tooth Tiger, it's Sean's band with his girl friend/fiance I saw them open for The Flaming Lips at the Ryman in Nashville, they were awesome!
❤️👍🏼
Just cause he is lennon's son doesn't mean he he John Lennon. Why would anyone think that just cause u have a father who is special u would would be special too or even half of that?

He is better than his dad playing guitar but not in singing!
Your right its unfair to judge Sean because of who his father was and prehapes he's judged even harder because Julian is very talented but I'm guessing most people wouldn't feel his singing abilities aren't very good
@ryzgee 9 october ? Both Birthday's. Sean,John and Sharon were both born on the same day.
I find it really dispiriting that so many of the commenters have written such nasty things.
