Ma'am in the first stanza crow and hemlock tree are personified...so can personification be a literary device...please reply ma'am
Crow undoubtedly can be an example of personification but hemlock in no way is personified in the first stanza.

I am of 6th class still I have this poem in my syllabus

In 2nd stanza has and heart has alliteration mam
Dear, thank you for your input. Just to make things clear - while identifying alliteration we do not look at the letters, we observe the SOUNDS. If you see both these words begin with same letter but the sound is different for both. So, this is not an example of alliteration.
