"A Tiger in the Zoo" was written by Leslie Norris. The poem is a beautiful description of the erstwhile life of a tiger, when he was a free animal in the jungle and now when he is caged in the zoo.
When the tiger was a free animal, he used to be powerful and brave, and therefore all the villagers were afraid of him, but now that he has been put in the cage, things have changed. People are no longer afraid of him. The tiger has started feeling terrified and powerless.
