Good progress on the floors Chris. Glad to see you taking the advice you gave me a year ago. Take your time, step back when you get frustrated and re-approach it with a clear mind later on. I’ve had to do that a number of times. I really wish I had wings that could bolt on and off like that. Haha. This weekends work would have been short!
Thanks, Steve. Yes, bolt on wings are nicer, especially for seeing gaps. More moving parts, but more options. Maybe the next visit will involve welding.
Thanks, Barry. Did you have to spring them at all, too. In other words, they seemed to align along the top, with the inner sill, but the bottom was still drooping down? I have a contour gauge on the way and I'll see what the other side looks like and compare.
I found when I looked from front to back of the sill it flattened out. With the top edge clamped I used two Jack's and raised the outer sill and that rounded it out to the shape of the end caps. At that point I welded a few spots along the top then spot welded the outer sill to the floor with my spot welder. I did trim the sill flange as it was not flat and level with the edge of the floor all the way along. At the middle of the door opening I removed about 1/8 th inch at the rear it was about 3/16th. Not ideal but it looks better.

@@roundtailrestoration I have no doubt it will. I just welded on my other wing tonight. If I can do it, so can you!
Looks good. Your patience will show its value when you get it fitted correctly. Thanks
I hope so, Paul. Need some sort of gratification when this is done, that's for sure.
You are getting there and patience is your best friend. I can say lifting on the sills was what mine finally line up. Take care

Ok, thanks Barry. That helps a lot.
Well done on stopping to take stock. Sometimes the hardest thing to do!
Yeah, not easy. But, hopefully for the better. I'll get started back on it probably next time. Thanks!
Getting ready to do the same thing on my tr6. Thanks for preparing me
Glad it helped, John. Good luck!
Great progress ! Looking good !
Thanks, Thomas. It's a struggle, but I'm getting there (I think).
