That is awesome @southjersey10, super stoked for you. I love that thing, besides the tones it is just a fantastic looking instrument in my opinion. Ive owned this bass for 6 years. It's a solid instrument. Mine is made in Indonesia. It's well made, no neck diving, super fast action.
I've always used nickel wound strings, switched to flat wound and the playability, manuvering increased.
I would recommend this bass to anyone looking for an intermediate level bass that you can play live w/o issue.
I may have an affinity for Ibanez instruments, but because of that, at the time, was what made me go with this bass in the first place.
Dont ponder amy longer, drop the $350-400 you won't be sorry.

I loved mine when I first purchased it new - a candyapple red example in 2015.
Sadly, I found playing it live was an absolute nightmare & it didn't suit my fingers, as the string spacing was too narrow. I swapped it for a Squier Jazz V with a wider neck as my longer fingers could wrap around it easily. In future if I want a B-string bass guitar, I will use a regular 4-string and do without the facility of a G....

I have an sr600. I usually don’t like guitars with front input jack, but I find when using a wireless system, better to have transmitter on front of guitar than on the side where it can be bumped when sitting and playing.
My Ibanez Mikro has side jack input and I’m afraid of bumping and breaking wireless transmitter when playing it.
Yes @RaiderNation-North, I agree. The angle of the plug on this one helps that a bit. I wish I had gotten the 4 string, since I almost never use the 5th string and it makes the neck bigger. What do you recommend for a $ 400 4 string bass?
You mention this bass being lightweight... but can you share exact weight of this beauty? I am also searching for light weight instruments 🙂
I tried to weigh it on the scale I use to measure my weight and it didn't register a weight, heh. However, I can confidently say it is not weightless. I compared it to my Nick Johnston Schecter I know is 8.5 pound and it was lighter, I compared it to my Ibanez SEW which I know is 4.5 pounds and it was heavier. So I would estimate it is about 6.5 pounds, maybe 7. Hope ya sub!

It has a decent amount of weight to it, but probably about the same as an Epiphone Les Paul guitar, maybe.
The only disappointment in this video is that I didn't get to HEAR you play it. And I've never been an Ibanez, but found your commentary interesting. Anyway, that major disappointment is the reason I haven't subscribed nor hit the notification bell.

Wait so is there a pick up selector? Like if I want the bottom picks ups to be in use only could I do that?

If it's passive, how come it needs a battery? I'm searching for this as others have said it is passive but I can't find an answer. even Ibanez website says it's passive yet it has a 9V battery compartment.
Great question, the pickups are passive, but it has a powered EQ (the 3 knobs) in it (which I love) which lets me shape the tone I get out of it. I really like it.
@JediJingleMaker can you still play it without a battery??
