Every part of this song is brilliant. Freddies voice, his piano, the harmonies, Deacys bass, Brian’s solo ,the crescendo at the end and Rogers incredible drum fills - the whole thing is totally epic and beautiful. ADATR is prob my all round favourite album because each song is fantastic in its own right.

This immense work is unfairly ignored. These days, although I have known it for 40 years, I became obsessed with her expressiveness and variations. It follows the line of Bohemian Rhapsody but instead a ballad, Freddie composed using waltz and classical resources, and inserts no one but two parts of furious rock. This, basically analyzed. Put four or more chords in one measure! The piano execution is insane! The triangle that is played live by Deacon whose bass line is also extraordinary.
After many years of listening to this brilliance, I do believe Mozart would indeed not only have approved, but delighted in the magnificence, that is Queen.
I hope future musicians can find the strength to write and record such music, sonically beautiful, technical and just fucking brilliant !!!! The way QUEEN music is !!!!

Deacon was superb throughout the Opera/Races sessions. This band was the most balanced group in R&R history.

One of my top favourite songs by Queen... it's got everything, really... Funny, serious, intimate, epic... it's a weird kind of progressive rock song in a way ! Magnificent instrumental part, one of Brian May's finest moments really ! ... Freddie's vocals are awesome, he sounds like a French female singer from the 30's sometimes... Well, I just love it. It's got a certain similarity with Bohemian Rhapsody, indeed. A mini operetta in less than 6 minutes.

The great thing about this song is that it lets every band member show off their skills. Freddie ' s amazing control with his vocals and his piano playing, Johns bass, brians guitar parts and Rogers drumming, as well as Brian and Rogers unique backing vocals.
I am working my way through every Queen song I can find here on youtube. I am still amazed at how each Queen song is so different from every other Queen song, and they are all brilliant works!
