My grandfather had a 57 black/red leather interior.
During the gas crisis in the 70s, he sold that perfectly fine car because he thought gas prices would only keep going up.
He sold it for $600.
I used to remind him of that just to annoy him. 😆

My heart skipped a beat when I saw the green Corvette in the thumbnail. At 14:10 my heart sank. I was hoping it might be my Dad's (r.i.p.) '72 in Elkhart Green. Seems the '71 is a shade darker, up close. Smallblock automatic & air, ttop, fm/am, ps pb & tilt/tele, a true driver for us 4 or 5 days a week when we were wholesalers out of the VaBeach area.
He had to sell everything, all the toys & squirrely cars in the collection from the decades, thanks to the IRS and then chemo.
I miss him, and that Corvette. If I ever find it, I'll sell BOTH kidneys if I have to and pay cash.
