  • Snorkeling with 3 Hawaiian white tip Reef sharks off the coast of the big island of hawaii.
    The White Tip Reef Shark is the most commonly sighted shark in hawaiian waters. Since it does not have to constantly move to breathe like most sharks, the white tip spends most of its time relaxing on the sea floor. These sharks can grow up to 7 ft long and usually eat reef fishes, octopuses, and crustaceans.

    These shots should be used on Discovery! Love how the piano music makes the shark look so graceful in the water! Awesome video man!

    Great video! It was very professionally done. I didn't know that sharks snorkeled. Sorry... just a little dry humor... or should I say wet humor, and very little at that. Anyway, I love the video. It does a very good job of showing the gracefulness of the White Tip, Reef Shark. Thanks for posting it.

    Where was this taken? I’m on the Big Island for a few weeks and would love to see a whitetip. I’ll be diving and snorkeling.

    Was this at Kapalua? I saw sharks sleeping in a cave today that looked exactly like this.

      Allison Hatcher This was actually filmed on the Big Island of Hawaii, but white tip reef sharks are the most common shark seen in the Hawaiian islands! That’s awesome you saw a few!

      Swimming and sleeping! Very cool sighting.
      I’ve seen them before in La Jolla and at Tunnels on Kauai but both times was prepared and searching for them. This one a Kapalua surprised us! Then we met a wonderfully nerdy little girl who showed us the cave where they sleep.
      Looking forward to spying an octopus this trip if we are very vigilant.

      Allison Hatcher I also saw a white tip shark at Kapalua yesterday. He was sleeping/resting near the bottom under the reef. I was told by the surfboard rental guys that he lives there. He was about 6 feet long. It was incredible to experience. Glad he didn’t wake up though!

      Saw the same 6 footer last week in Kapalua. Was told by the rental guys that there are TWO out there normally. The one we saw was a 6 foot, pregnant female. It was around noon and she was swimming underneath us.

      They rarely attack humans but if u r stealing their catch they might bite you

    • @BalthasarvD
      @BalthasarvD 8 лет назад

      Andrew Moya only if they feel that they're in danger and that only happens if you swim right to them and won't stop giving no respect at all. Then they might attack you or just swim away. It's quite rare that they actually attack people.
