Absolutely not true, Shami plays every single season of IPL yet he is an absolute beast in test cricket for India year in year out, Bumrah before his recent stress fracture injury was a beast in every single format for India for years. So this is just an excuse, RP just wasn't that good really, nowhere near the level of likes of Bumrah & Shami who are easily two of the greatest fast bowlers in Indian cricket history, their stats back it up as well.

R.P Singh used to swing ball very well Had not pace like Zaheer but used to swing ball like anything . Missed him post retirement. Best Left armer of India ever after Zaheer
R.P.Singh sliced and egged many players when he was in Indian Cricket Team, especially in 2007 T20 World Cup where he outshined very well. But it was all in vain. He used to represent the avatar of Rudra in many occasions.
