I like how they implemented the "Let's ignore effects for now" line, because we're literally getting the G3 rideline revealed tomorrow. Haha, clever Bushi.
Actually we are going to get the trial version tomorrow, the one Urara used is the booster version. They couldn't reveal the booster one before the trial one LOL :)
@@anonnimoose7987 Tbh, I think it's ok, since you first want to know your "Avatar" and how it works. So that you can build your deck around it afterwards
Even though it isn’t the trial deck version they are making it where trial decks don’t have skills but instead have alternate versions with rules on it (there’s a pack with the cards that have the actual effects though)
tbh this is what we need from the overdress s1 eps 1. This episode is perfect to the opening of the series, I can’t ask for more honestly. Also urara is the new MC now? she’s so adorable and yuyu now acts like aichi, he’s so mature
What a perfect first episode! I honestly wasn't expecting it, YU-YU'S GROWTH HOLY TRICKSTER! THE RETURN OF TUTORIAL MATCHES THAT EXPLAIN THE GAME! EVERYTHING WAS SO GOOD! ALREADY A GOOD STEP FORWARD, LET'S KEEP THIS PACE GOING
I like how they're slowly expanding the world of Vanguard in D series, like as much as the Nagoya Castile fight was a sight to behold Yuyu and pals still aren't a part of an official tournament circle and they're pretty much unknown to the rest of the wider VG world until this season
As someone coming from Yugioh I can say that the tutorial and mechanic are much simpler than I thought. Anime-wise, it's also more refreshing to see that there are many female players and a lot of them are just as strong.
Vanguard definitely improved in this aspect as the series went on. In the original series. It actually really annoyed me that the female fighters kept getting paired against other female fighters in the official tournaments/important fights. But they got more varied. More female fighters more males vs female fights etc.
I must say Yu-yu’s redesign is a massive improvement. While it’s only a boost in height and a new jacket the main thing is the red and black color scheme more fitting of something who plays dragon empire and connects him more visually to Trick Star than his old white and green. I am very exited for the events to come
We need her to do English dub too . C’mon Bushi do this right and just use her. In case you don’t know her name is Karin Kagami and she’s Japanese and English VA of Maho Akashi from D4DJ
I find it cool that Yu yu didn't overdress once in his match to help teach her basics. It reminds me of how I taught the kids cause we started with D standard.
Bro so much in one episode it's so cool! Finally a proper tutorial fight which honestly slipped my mind in the first season because it was so good! but i feel like they upped their animations and art style a bit more because it looks so smooth! the beginning first fight and the tutorial fights going in and out of imagination to reality is just intense AHHHHHHHHHHH *Ded*
The one thing I always appreciated about Vanguard is that they create tutorial fight episodes so you can either learn for the first time or be reminded how the game works.
Urara is so adorbs. Like legit, she made me smile a lot this episode. Honestly glad I let myself get back into Vanguard after being a bit skeptical over the first half of Season 1 for overdress; thought it was a bit... weird, at first, and there's still some eccentries but I'm coming to appreciate them more than blink at them. xD ~Ry
0:01 - 1:26 It's quite ironic, I mean you'd expect the MC's ace card to be a warrior and the Rival/Enemy's ace to be a dragon and now it's the other way around.
This is a fantastic opening for the series. Can't wait to see what's in store. On a side note, a strong player telling the newbie to imagine it always gives me chills for some reason.
I've just seen this and I was flabbergasted Every single vanguard episode is amazing I especially like overdress for not only it's use of effects but how it portrays the characters
A fresh start of the will+Dress series and Urara is really something special in her first play against the new leader of Blackout and the boy who defeat Mirei the mighty Yu-Yu Kondo. But there's more... a tournament arc is here as well.
F Urara, literally just started playing Vanguard and suddenly she's invited to a bigshot tourney XD. That aside: Urara is freaking precious. Must protect rn XD.
I have a feeling that the guy we saw is trying to see who has those power of Psyquallia. I’m guessing that he is going to use them for his plan for unknown reason.
It's surprising how Yu-yu managed to become the leader of Blackout. Then again, he is the protagonist, so that's no surprise. But it's cool to see Yu-yu helping Urara start out with Vanguard. Ooooh, that Jinki character is giving me major Katsuragi vibes. Is this gonna potentially be a "danger of two worlds" kinda story?
Okay I know Overdress, will+Dress whatever is about a more realistic Vanguard series, but seeing a tutorial episode and hearing "Imagine It" and the characters feeling like their in Planet Cray again after two seasons of this series feels nostalgic to me and makes it feel more complete, and I know I'm not the only one here, Also I love the insert song in Urara's winning turn, which for now I'll call it Urara's theme. will+Dress is definitely gonna be an awesome season first episode in and I'm already pumped. As for new characters... From this episode the vibe I got from Raika, Urara, Michiru and Jinki are Michiru - his dialogue at the end made him sound like Chrono who knows what the future holds, nothing much other than he's strong, probably strong as Danji err... Nadatsugu based on the preview, future episodes might tell more about him. Urara - throughout she's like a more adorable Tokoha (no insult here), also I assume she's into music as her avatar looks like a conductor and her dialogue in her winning turn was reffered as "Blossom, my tone", and I think she was carrying a flute case. I think her story would revolve around how she's talented since she learns at a fast pace and how it affected her life, like making friends. Raika - Is Shion and Kanzaki fused together, he sees that losers as people who are not worthy of life, how losers don't even deserve to laugh even though it's just a game. I dont like how he basically calls Yuyu a coward, who doesn't join tournaments, I'm sorry but did he actually think that the Nagoya Castle Battle happened so that it can make Yuyu stand out more? Yeah, I don't like him already, Someone literally needs to crush this guy's pride, but maybe his story revolves on how he should always win and how winning is absolute and how losers don't deserve happiness, whatever. Maybe I'll like him more in future episodes. Jinki - probably was the one Masanori is working for, and yeah he's not even hiding the fact that he might have ulterior motives for this tournament, "to find out who's the best" is just a cover-up or probably not. Guess we'll see what's up with him later down the line.
Yeah Raika really leaves off a bad first impression imo. I really hate that mentality of "if you're a loser, you're loser, nothing more nothing less". But hopefully he'll change for the better in the future cuz looking past all that he genuinely seems like good guy. Also really excited to see more of Jinki, Michiru and especially Urara. She's so funny and cute but like you said I think there's more to her and I'm really excited for that.
This time, they have a proper focus on the game itself like showing the match properly play by play even if there are some cuts to ot. I wish it stays like this and turned back to the old series.
