I can't thank you enough for this video. As repair professionals you are really sacrificing a lot of income posting these tutorials for those of us willing to turn a wrench without knowing your knowledge about the little things like being above the tabs to pop the top. Thank you!
Helped me out with the unconventional slider instead of the wheel type. Easy fix once I watched this. THANKS 😊👌👍✌
My dryer quit turning ten minutes ago. I'm certain it's the belt. Thank God for this video. Even I can understand the instructions. 😊
I just replaced my dryer belt myself and thanks to your video, my dryer now works great! The hardest part was putting the front back on. Total, it took me about an hour. Total cost =$15 to buy the belt at Lowe’s. 😀
Glad you were able to fix your issue! If there is anything we can help you with in the future please let us know.
Note: Several important steps were not mentioned in the video. 1. The grooves in the belt must face the drum of the dryer. 2. Carefully remove the lint screen filter screws. Why? If you should have the misfortune of dropping a screw down the opening for the lint screen -- you'll spend the next hour of your life removing parts to find the screw(s). 3. When removing the door panel to the dryer, it's important to be careful. You don't want to break off the tabs on the panel clips located at the bottom of the panel on the left and right of the front panel. If you gorilla grip the front door panel and try and yank it off the clips you might discover that you broke the clips and will need to replace them before the dryer will work again. The part is reasonably priced and easy to install, however, the wait to get the part in the mail is usually not an exciting time. 4. When you're replacing the belt -- watch so you don't trap your finger between the belt and the motor's pulley. 5. Removing and reinstalling the idler pulley requires you to properly clip the bottom part of the idler pulley into the bottom (base plate) of the dryer. It's super important you "practice" putting the idler in its proper position prior to reinstalling it. Lacing the belt through the dryer pulley while trying to loop it around the motor pulley isn't as easy as it might look. You want to remember practice makes perfect. Lacing the pulley is a "finer art" than you might first imagine. 6. The video showed the technician placing the vent screws on top of the dryer. I recommend you place the screws in a safe place (your pocket, in a coffee cup, or on a table near the dryer). The same goes for the two cabinet screws. If you drop any of these screws you'll wish you followed this tip. When you replace the screws -- be super-duper careful to NOT drop a screw. Why? If you drop a cabinet screw -- at the very least you'll have to remove the front of the dryer cabinet to find it. If you drop a screw while securing the vent opening to the top of the dryer cabinet -- you might have to take the dryer apart to find the screw. If you follow these simple, additional recommendations the chances are you'll have a successful repair.
Thanks for the added ideas!
Stan, nice to add some info. But I'm pretty sure that falls under the category of 'common sense'.
Not knocking you or your plethora of knowledge.
This was an informative video that helped someone like me, who has never worked on a dryer in my life, to easily replace a broken belt.
@@TrailingSkies27 You are right. It's self-explanatory to most people. The 341241 belt is by far and away one of the easier belts to change. I've looked at some of the newer appliances and it might help to be a mechanical engineer.
@@stannoll6248 Thank you Stan! In fact some of your points have zero to do with just common sense. I'm not an experienced, professionally trained mechanic. However, I am a very well established, unstoppable driven mindset to DIY kind of lady. I take pride in being self taught, with the help of many others who have valuable points to add. So with that being said, thank you for adding your commentary. I was looking for answers and I appreciatively found them in your comment. As for the snarky comment made towards your comment...🙄there's always one in every bunch. Once again thank you and always add your commentary where need be...there will always be people like myself that are open to the help of others. That's why I landed here today! 🙂
@@TrailingSkies27with all due respect, which way to turn the grooves was not mentioned and NOT common sense because every machine is designed differently and many of them follow the exact opposite of the way it appears.
Thank you for the detailed instructions and focusing on the pulley and tensioner as that was the most challenging part for me.
Glad the video helped you get the dryer fixed up!
Ok I must say this was so much help! I fixed my dryer by myself! I got the parts off Amazon and I did it with no help! Thank you so much!!! I send you a big hug!!!!!!
🙄Wow... You used their video to save you a couple hundred dollars and YOU wouldn't even order their part for $16 🙈 you went to Amazon... What a low-down dirty shame🙉👎👎
Thank you so much! I had done this years ago but couldn't remember how to get the top and front panels off. You made this divorced Mom very proud to be able to do it myself. You saved the day. Thank you!
+Laura Wilcher Awesome, glad you were able to get the dryer fixed!
Thank you! About once every 9 to 18 months my dryer decides to quit tumbling and I've saved your video guidance to remind us how to get back in to slightly move it which always solves the problem! Originally I found your video due to a broken belt. Then one other time the belt had slipped off. Not really sure what happens every so often these days but glad I have your video book marked!
This was spot on! Good, clear instructions without a lot of commentary. My belt replacement went just as described.
This is the 3rd time that I’ve used this video over the years to replace our belt. MANY THANKS! (With inflation, supply chain issues, and the costs to replace newer computerized dryers - we are driving our old school one till the wheels fall off😜)
Thank you for posting this excellent video! Saved me a lot of time and trouble trying to figure it out on my own. Cheers!
Jimi Ray Awesome, glad the video helped you get the dryer belt changed!
Great success! Belt broke and your video gave me the confidence to fix it. Watched a few times to get the right way to loop the belt.... saved me hours of frustration. Thank you.
Awesome! This was the first repair job that I did with my teenage son and there was no yelling involved because of your simple instructions :-)
😂
Thanks so much for posting this! I have never taken my dryer apart and your video helped me fix a slipped belt by myself. Saved me at least a service call!
Thank you AppliancePartsPros!!!!! You just saved my family $300+ on a new dryer! I appreciate you and sharing your knowledge and skills. I will tell everyone about your site!
+Joshro85 Awesome, glad you were able to save the dryer and get it running!
Very clear instructions. Thanks. Your's is the only video showing a tensioner without a roller which is what my Whirlpool has. The tensioner popped off when I slipped the pulley off the motor shaft and I couldn't figure out where it attached. Your video cleared that up for me. I had just replaced the gas hose with one having a safety valve in it and the dryer was not igniting. It was full of lint in the bottom. Removed the lint and $30 in coins from the bottom, checked the igniter and gas coil impedances - no open circuits. Tested it with the drum removed - lit and worked fine. Put the dryer back together and it is still working fine. The video made it much simpler to disassemble and re-assemble the dryer..
Glad the video helped you get the dryer fixed!
Everything came off easy. Top swung up, front panel slid off. Disconnecting the switch was tricky as shown in your video. Belt looped on easy thru pulley. Now it's all back and working. Thanks for saving me a service call!
Gregor Force Glad the video helped you get the dryer fixed!
Awsome video, mom of 4 desperate to repair this on her own. Belt coming today already took dryer apart as you showed. Hope it works out, don't see why not. You saved me a bunch. belt was $5. Thanks a million.
Thanks man! You helped savedq me some serious time on fixing my dryer!
$8 and half an hour later it's up and running. Great info. Thank you Matt!
Unbelievably grateful 🙏 for your video. Was happily surprised to find this instructional on older model. The step by step was Exactly what I needed to do and your video was simple for even someone like myself who rarely does these things. You saved me money & time and I appreciate You for it 🙂.
Thank you for this video. My belt was broken so I had not taken off the front panel until the replacement arrived. When I saw the tension pulley laying on the floor of the dryer with no loose screws with it. I was done until I saw this video. A cheap but effective design. All is working fine now.
Great video! It took only a few minutes and I had my dryer fixed!
Look Here I didn’t understand that pulley system you saved my life also brother you saved me time and some money🙏🏾

Wow, great video and I got the part from Appliance Parts Pros in one day! The dryer works great. Thank you.
The best video! Our dryer belt just broke. After watched the video, we quickly ordered the belt from you. We will support your business from now on!
We're glad we could help!
Matt does a great service! I recently watched this video, ordered from APP, and replaced my dryer belt myself! Thanks!!!! Saved $$$$$$
Glad the video helped you out and thanks for the order!
Thank You!!! You sir are a true professional.
Keith Kitchin, You do not have the reply feature on so I cannot reply to your post. There are 2 sets of holes in the floor one of them line up better with the motor pulley. If you use the wrong one it could cause the belt to run at an angle and fall off. If you look at 3:01 in the video it show the idler mounted in the 2 front slots.
Thanks for these simple and detailed instructions. My drive belt just broke and I'll be using this video to repair my dryer.
You're welcome! Glad to help.
Thanks very much for your excellent video. Using it, I was able to replace the belt on my dryer, and save time and money.

alienh1701 Thanks! Glad the video helped you get the belt changed.
Thanks...I couldn't have replace my belt if I did watch this video first... the tensioner pulley was laying on its side... so setting it up right that was the most helpful part of this video

Much appreciated. Thanks for posting the video
You are the best! Thank you so much for this video. You made it so easy to understand how the dryer is put together.
You're welcome!
The grooves on the belt go against the drum. This way the belt grooves will match up with the motor pulley.

Great video, easy fix and my mother is happy.
Thanks a ton. I've been looking all over the bottom of the dryer trying to find parts that I thought were missing. I've never seen an all metal pulley like that. I figured a roller or something must have busted off. Great Video!
Glad the video helped you out!
Perfect instructions. Thank you very much!
You're welcome!
Thank you so much for the video. It saved a ton of time n money for me.
Great video. Helped fix this for the first time ever!!!

+Scott Hempstead Awesome, glad you were able to get the dryer fixed!
Thank you so much! Easy fix with your help
Thx! Helped out tremendously. Just changed the belt in my dryer (which had completely snapped). The video was very informative.
You're welcome! Glad we could help!
YES! this is exactly the video I needed!
I was wondering the same thing but decided to try this part anyways. Mine looks about 5 or so years older than this one but the same part that's listed in the title worked for me. It's less than 20 bucks. Try it out =)
Thank you for the video! Fantastic!
Great video. Worked like a charm. Thank you
You're welcome!
This was very helpful. One thing not mentioned that you want to watch for is to make sure the rubber side of the belt is in contact with the drum. Mine came out of the bag with the rubber side facing outward and I ended up installing it that way. Needless to say, the drum still didn't spin. I would also suggest manually turning the drum before putting everything back together. It turns out that with then new belt installed and the tensioner in the left slot on the base frame, the top of the tensioner was rubbing on the drum and making an awful racket. Moving the tensioner to the right-most slot took care of the problem.
Glad we could help. Thanks for the tips!
our repair went just like video, thank you!
lovethyneighbor as thyself Good job on getting the belt installed!
Thank YOU for teaching us; luv ya
Thank you sir you just help me out alot and saved me alot
You're quite welcome! Happy to help.
excellent video. worked like a charm! thanks!
Exactly what i was looking for. Thanks
Awesome. This helped alot. Thanks guys.
Question, when I put my new belt on and fed it through the tensioner, the tensioner bracket rubbed against the drum when it turned. I ended up moving the tensioner bracket to the slit to the right of the one that you used and it didn't rub. The two slits appear to be slightly different sizes. Is what I did ok or do I possibly have the wrong sized belt? Thanks
It sounds to me like you could have a twist in your belt or you didn't turn the drum a full 360 degrees to allow the belt to properly track around the drum.
Thank you for the video. You just saved me alot of money :)
Glad the video helped you get the belt changed!
Great video. It helped me. Thank you.
thank you so much for video, saved me hundreds!!
Glad the video helped you get the belt changed!
Thanks for the video. Whenever I turn the drum by hand, the tensioner pulley comes loose (turned it the wrong way). Your video helped me to get the drum out and the tensioner back in the slot. Thanks again.
Glad the video helped you get the idler in!
Thank you so much. That bracket instead of a pulley really confused me.
They could make disassembly/reassembly a lot easier.
If there is anything we can help you with please let us know.
this dude has an awesome perm

You're welcome, David! We're so glad it worked out for you.
