Everest Base Camp Trek | Day 6 | Acclamatization day
In high altitude treks , after continuously gaining an altitude for 2-3 days you have take one day rest so that your body adjusts to the atmosphere . This resting day is called as an Acclamatization day . You have to do a small hike on this day to nearly area , it can be a small hike where you will gain an altitude of about 200-300 mtrs and come back but we (me and my buddy Gokul ) we decided to climb the peak where we are going for small acclamatization hike in dingboche. The peak is named as Nagtarshang Peak and stands at an altitude of 5100 mtrs . So the idea was to touch the height of 5000 mtrs. If we successfully climb this peak it'll be our first 5000 mtrs peak .
It seemed easy first but after crossing 2nd checkpoint it started getting tougher and tougher altitude was increasing and the steepness of the peak to along with that oxygen levels were decreasing making the climb difficult . but we kept on moving , took small steps towards summit keeping one thing in mind , we haveee to summit our first 5000 mtrs peak . After rigorously trekking for 5 hours without food we finally summited the peak and the happiness we felt after summitting was out of this world .. The scenary was mind blowing , views of snow capped peaks was literally amazing .
After spending some time on the top of the Nangkartshang Peak we started descending and within 2 hours we reached at our tea house . In this way a small acclamatization hike turned into our first 5000 mtrs summit in himalayas (Everest Region)
