WfM was given a Gundam X ending. No further deaths, main couple together and villain in a wheelchair (better Prospera than Shaggia). But, the rest of the episode was Unicorn, Zeta and F91. Pretty interesting they referenced one show each from early, middle and late UC and the only AU that explicitly has newtypes. My only real complaint (and a hope for a future continuation OVA/series) would be either a real conclusion to the Dawn of Fold or a resurgence after a time if Mio's gamble still kept most of the power to space corps.
Hearing The Witch From Mercury theme returning after a full season-absent was the most 😎😎😎 moment for this episode! Emphasizing Suletta and Eri’s reunion. They’re bacc They protecc But most importantly… It’s time for their counterattacc! And my goodness was there a lot of “magic” moment introduced in this episode that allowed our MCs to resolved everything in one go. A global connection that allowed Miorine to voiced their innocent and get out of their suspected crime via loophole in the law. A massive permet invasion by Suletta, Eri, and the other Gundam suits that override the giant laser. And the permet system somehow being physical in particle form and is able to dissolve any physical objects connected to it. Consciousness of previous Gundam users integrated into the permet system via Quiet Zero to give pep talks and helping Suletta achieved her final form. Shaddiq taking all the blame. Suletta transferring Eri into a new small body…somehow. I think there are some logics or reasonable explanations behind all of this, but when pointed out in bland context it really makes you want to scratch your head in confusion. 😅 You know, I do enjoy the happy ending, cause you gotta ask: Just how many anime, movie, tv shows have been making happy endings lately? So far it’s been either dark or bittersweet. Therefore, having this show having such a happy ending was a breath of fresh air for me.
10:48 i feel like this understates the scale of the feat when she shut down the laser at legrange 1 i believe from Lagrange 5 in a matter of seconds. thats like 400 kilometers away, i feel like its safe to say she either disabled its permet systems or took control of it, i wouldnt call real Elan a douche for bailing on the defacto villains of the benerit group either
I agree that there's some plot points that felt rushed, and the real Elan's story just never even started, but I am pretty satisfied with WfM. I do feel if they'd had more time (even just a few episodes more) they could have let some events conclude at a more natural pace. And beyond that, if they went for the big 50 episode mark that they could have really fleshed out certain points and included some extra plot threads - but it is what it is at the end of the day. Not perfect, but pretty damn great. I enjoyed the ride, I laughed, I cried, and my girls got married so I can hardly ask for more. I'm just kind of heart sick that it's over, honestly. I enjoyed this series so much that I want to spend more time in it.
kinda feel like more -not full season- but just one or five episodes to just to properly wrap up. does not feel quite rushed to me but wont disagree too much if anyone feel like it is rushed
A pit stop there during the story would've been nice yeah. Though from what we've learned in the Cradle Planet novel, that place really sucks and doesn't have much going on lol
@@RevoSKL A flashback that just highlighted the place would have fit nicely when we were seeing Earth. Like have Suletta or her Mom remember something.
The only thing I'd point out correction wise is I don't think Eri is actually in the hotsan keychain but she's in that block of bismuth looking material that was left over when Aeriel dissolved. I think that's what's in Mio's suitcase and the keychain is just a bit of permet tech Eri is controlling as a way to communicate with the outside world. Anyways I'm happy the show got a happy ending but sad to see it over. It did feel rushed in places. Especially at the end of the season and I cant help but feel it needed a few more episodes to fit it all in. I'm also not happy with how it looks like they are shutting the door on it. Wing was even more definitive and they did EW and FT anyways so never say never. But damn, did you have to do it that way?
Its obvious that this show was supposed to have 50 episodes but Bandai cancelled it in order to shift its focus to the SEED movie…making most of new fans leave. Bravo Bandai, thank you for choosing a 21-year old series that even its newest entry looks like a movie from 2006. SEED Freedom has big chance of being a flop outside of Asia and with how popular G-Witch was there is a chance the newer fans that weren’t there in the early 2000’s will boycott the movie. I get UC as its the og, most build upon and the one that started it all. But CE that didnt have such punch in global scale like G-Witch or Wing?
I really hope that isn't the case, neutering a mainline series for a movie from an older is a terrible move. Also considering G-Witch was written by Code Geass' writer, which is also one of their major series that has gotten multiple seasons, OVA's, a mobile game and movies. That would feel pretty bad
@@RevoSKL Bandai thinks about the Japanese market first and foremost. So if Japanese fans will boycott the movie (Aliens again?) Bandai will probably add the dreaded "Witch from Mercury will return" to the blu-ray version of Episode 24. The data from the fiscal year should prove that G-Witch is the future and since CE isnt as important as UC it can be left behind from animated entries like all the other AU’s. They might as well make a G Gundam movie.
@@nurlindafsihotang49 I wonder if this movie flops then Bandai will close the CE media with a tight valve as they realise its not 2006 anymore and most of Gundam fans moved on
Is it just me or does it seem that many of the mobile suits were underuntilised, such as the Demi Barding and Gundam Schwarzette which only appeared in a few episodes and were kind of just used as convenient additions in the end. The Demi Barding especially as it has a lot of features from the model kit but we didn't get to see them used in the show and the Schwarzette was quickly abandoned then just destroyed with the Pharact.
I agree that many of the Gundams/MS' didn't get a whole lot of use, especially the Schwartzette. It fought against Guel and then proceeded to disintegrate. I'm thinking about doing a fresh watch of the entire series again now that it's done and make a video going over some very under-utilized aspects within the show
I had suspected for a while that this mainline Gundam would only be 24 or technically 25 if you count the prologue from July last year, as its been 6 years now since IBO ended and the anime industry is much different than it was back then. It is always possible that G-Witch, being the first new Gundam in a while, it was given 25 to test the waters for how well Gundam will do in this era of constant Isekai anime and barely any Mecha. Perhaps during the production of the first season, the director and the writers hoped to convince Bandai or the Sunrise higher ups for another 24 episode order where they could then further explore these threads that were resolved much too quickly in this final episode, but it seems that it didn't pan out despite how popular G-Witch has become, especially in Gunpla sales. Perhaps Sunrise will greenlight a G-Witch movie eventually if the Gunpla sales remain high but that may be a while away. Either way, while it wasn't the most satisfying ending and a lot was left open, as it seems that even though it was a pretty happy ending, the Earthian and Spacian conflict hasn't been resolved and may lead to an all out war eventually. The biggest thing I noticed about this particular Gundam is that it was very specifically about a colony conflict or a Spacian civil war in this case, as other Gundam series followed the usual Earth vs Space Colonies narrative, so I think this was an interesting experiment for Gundam, if nothing else. In the end, I enjoyed the ending well enough. Could it have been better? Of course, but I'm fine with it for now even if I did think that Elnora got off scott free just a bit too much though that might be cause Shaddiq took the fall fully and also the Data Storm ghosts being brought in like that was a little eh for me. I suppose you could make a case for Elan 4 but I would have personally preferred that Eri showed up instead and was the one that did it. I understand giving closure and all but I think the addition of these ghosts made the ending just a tiny bit too happy and sappy. That's probably my biggest complaint, the second biggest probably being that the Calibarn and Schwarzette not getting enough time to shine and being turned into stardust and the third biggest being that we never got to see the girls' wedding and I hope we do get an OVA of the wedding in the BluRay release. And that's it for now, these recaps were pretty fun and I wish you all the best for whatever you plan to do next.
Kinda disappointed that i hoped too much for Prospera to do more than what we had. I was really rooting for her revenge to unfold and redo the entire scenario during Vanadis incident, but in a whole planetary scale using Quiet Zero. I didn't even cared for the yuri shipping between characters, i just wanted to see Prospera burn down the entire Benerit group.
I really dislike the fact it's only 24 episodes it really makes this particular entry feel shortchanged in character development. I understand that not only is this show probably quite expensive to make and that it's also a bit of an experiment but I really feel like the gundam franchise is able to flesh out the characters and world more with more time. Now admittedly they'd probably have killed off a lot more characters if it was longer so maybe it's good that it didn't get the opportunity to do so lol. Bit odd how Shaddiq is taking the blame for Quiet Zero despite being nowhere near it and in custody at the time though. I do feel as if there is enough in this that they could potentially do a sequel or a film. For example a continuation of the revenge subplot could come from the people Prospera or her allies killed in the series (or even the family of the person Suletta splatted) and it could try and have an emphasis on breaking the cycle of hatred. That said though I'm pretty sure most of the gundam disintegrated so maybe not. Now on the flipside perhaps we could see a prequel. As far as I'm aware we never really got a proper understanding for why Delling went to the actions he did in the prologue. Could be a potential avenue they could look into if they wanted to do more in this particular universe but didn't want to expand the ending. It definitely feels like they added the ending so they could tell people that it's definitely concluded the Witch of Mercury's story and it won't have a sequel like some of the other series. They probably saw the speculation of a third season online and wanted to nip that in the bud. The show is flawed and very rushed but overall I did enjoy it.
Man, this final episode felt very, very weak and rushed, compared to most gundam shows, while I enjoyed WFM, this ending definitely sours the show for me, what a shame.
I'm so happy my boy El4n did come back for one more scene through the data storm and gave Suletta closure.

And Okuda still the director.
...oh boy..
@@nurlindafsihotang49 I wonder if this movie flops then Bandai will close the CE media with a tight valve as they realise its not 2006 anymore and most of Gundam fans moved on
@@Truenofan86 ...well, some still salty about GS: stargazer and GS : Astray tho. This will make them hates Sunrise more.
I'm thinking about doing a fresh watch of the entire series again now that it's done and make a video going over some very under-utilized aspects within the show
@@RevoSKL The Schwarzette quickly became a favourite of mine and I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for that video
Needs more seasons dammit
Kinda disappointed that i hoped too much for Prospera to do more than what we had. I was really rooting for her revenge to unfold and redo the entire scenario during Vanadis incident, but in a whole planetary scale using Quiet Zero. I didn't even cared for the yuri shipping between characters, i just wanted to see Prospera burn down the entire Benerit group.
I haven’t been this disappointed in Gundam since G-Reco… but at least G-Reco gave me badass combat.
I feel like this ending was rushed for the movie.
Also am I the only one who saw a “penis and vagina” visual design to Quiet Zero and the giant laser??
Gotta say pretty not into the super happy ending. It didn't really seem to fit the themes of the show.
terrible ending!
Honestly been a fan of Gundam since Wing but this series was a waste of time.
