"Shimakaze" is said to have been named with the image of "a refreshing breeze blowing in Ise-Shima."
All vehicles are equipped with full active suspension, making it a train with really little shaking.
Overtake the limited express bound for Osaka Uehonmachi, which is stopped at Ise-Nakagawa Station.

今度乗りたい！
つい先日賢島に行ってしまかぜを見ていつか乗りたいと思っていたらこの動画が出てきました。
地方在住なので賢島の驚くほどアクセスの良さと近鉄の凄さを感じます。
しまかぜでてから9年経ってるのにまだまだ人気で近鉄はすごい‼️
個人的に私鉄の中で近鉄が一番好き‼️

右下のマップ眺めてたら伊勢中川通過後にJR名松線と急接近してる区間で双方至近距離に駅があるね。
それなりに乗り換え客もいるのだろうか？
その駅を後に山間部に突入していくしまかぜ、山越えも軽快に飛ばしていくのが迫力があって格好良いな。
爽やかな春の薫風にそよめく木々の奥から、決して風景に溶け込んでいるとは言えないアイアンマンの如き異形のしまかぜが進んでくる。鬱蒼とした明治神宮の奥に広がる高層ビル群のごとき、こういった新旧織り交ぜたアイテムのビジュアル対照が日本のそこかしこで原風景になりつつあります。

北陸本線ではサンダーバードがサンダーバードに抜かれるという事が毎日されていましたよ。津幡駅で和倉温泉発の車両が副本線に停車し数分後に富山発の車両が本線を通過して金沢で併結してました。

しまかぜの運転席は真夏は直射日光がつらそうですね。

運行時間と距離もそうですが
駅番号が93から1まで連続してましたから
駅番号までは全く気にしてませんでした。確かに路線も駅数も多いので連続は凄いですね。

I have a weird question that I hope someone may know: If I sit on the last row of the last car of the Shimakaze with the empty conductor's cabin behind me, can I turn my seat around to face the rear windows? Like a reverse front view?
Rotate the seat to see the rear view
It is possible to see it.
I've seen videos of people actually doing it.
@@ys-train Thanks for your reply. I might just try that if it is not frowned upon. I ask because It is very difficult to reserve the front row seat. The rear view might be the next best thing. 🙂
特急なのに速度は控えめなんですね
速度を出せる区間が限られているので仕方ないです。
