yeah, it's sort of required because you can only shadow strike what you can see so you want where your going to be in the up left or up right (which can see farther then down left and down right because of the way the camera is angled) or at least straight left/right. it can be disorienting at first but with practice it's not too bad to get a handle on. It does take like a diffrent kind of map knowledge though
the reason that this works the is inside darkvale gate is actually in the top left of the map and even after you teleport it tries to path the shadow strike to it
yeah you can shadow strike to anything you can see and it will path to it. Actually you can take that to the extreme like at 36:35 I shadow strike something in darkvale then teleport away, because darkvale is in the top left of the map (for some reason) I just keep going for a long time before it eventually stops
This is sort of a late reply but oh well, Essentially it's a build I created for this run, and I end up adjusting it a bit run to run based on item drops. As a simple example is if I don't get many movement speed drops then I will prioritize putting points in Pneumatic Burst. The main fancy thing that the build does is keep phantasmal blades at level 8. This is because with frenetic throw your damage is limited by your mana (at least at the levels we are worried about for this speedrun). Leveling phantasmal blades past 8 will increase raw DPS but not "damage per mana". Attribute points are pretty dynamic and change run to run as you will need to adjust them to equip gear you get to drop and based on gear giving you attribute points. Generally you will need about 200 physique to equip your gear and then the rest goes into spirit for more damage and mana regen. (physique also increases survivability of course) here is a grimtools link with the basic build used in the run though (just the skills) www.grimtools.com/calc/YZeE8pkZ if your looking to go higher level you will want Nether's edge and max out Devouring Swarm. If your looking for more of a endgame build focused on Phantasmal blades, witch hunter probably is more optimal with something like: forums.crateentertainment.com/t/v1-0-3-0-blades-of-vitality-revisited-badass-knife-spamming-witch-hunter/42564. Though Trickster can scale into endgame I think witch hunter does it better as many of the later game shaman skill scale bleed which won't be the most significant part of your damage.
Explorers boots are nice, i've gotten them to drop a couple of times in runs, it's not better then the best possible "of haste" yellow boots which is max +12% roll that requires lvl 12 (explorers are lvl 15+). Most of the time the things that turn a good movment speed run into a great one or a "perfect" one is getting "of zeal" on belt, rings, amulet, and medal. An insane luck run would probably save 1.5 ish minutes on run speed alone. Been doing some more runs lately, I think 46 is very doable if not 45. is a very rng heavy run but it makes it fun to do cause you have to think on the fly to best optimize every run with the drops you get
@@RickBomhof what do you mean you can my mini map has fog of war like normal see 30:50 for example when im looking for the captured people and using the big map
Nice run. I know all the maps like the back of my hand but the second you turn the map I have no idea where anything is lol

If u really into this game in deep, u know what to do and what skills u need to go trough normal and elite.
I'd love to speedrun the game, but there not being a standalone client for speedrunning makes it kind of of a pain to get into it.
16:07 wtf the distance range!

Well played
Is this build posted anywhere or are you just doing one, from memory, that you created?

Nice.
If you got lucky and got Explorer's boots or something like that early, how much would it help?
