For some conext! 1. Rarity and applejack is not included cause they're not in this part of the story. I belive they still exist, obviously, but the main focus atleast in this drawing (and most similar) are only the 4 2. The things around ther neck is called a witchs collar, or some call it a witches wheel but i belive that a whole different thing. Please do not search up these terms if body modifications (obviously drawings, not..real gore), "gore" etc scares you. 3. According to the games , the insanity comes from the wheel around their neck preventing sleep. As well as if you see the game, its filled with endless rooms, paranoia, etc. Even the players character can be seen "losing sanity"

Ok I have a legitimate question I’ve had for awhile, I do love my gore and horror art but I do wonder why a large majority of the gore/horror speedpaints are mlp based? I personally have nothing against mlp (as an adult I’m quite neutral towards it now but liked it as a young teen) I’m just wondering why it’s the main canvas for gore/horror art. is it because of RUclipss weird censoring that makes it so people can’t draw gore of humans? Or is it just an aesthetic choice a lot of artists make? Is it cause of all the horror material in the mlp community? I’m genuinely curious and want to know, what draw you to draw gore/horror art of mlp specifically?
I think it's mainly for aesthetic purposes, since you're taking some colorful pink pony, and turning it into something graphic and dark. It's more of a pastel gore choice. And it's also probably because drawing gore of humans to this intensity might be a bit more unnerving than for it to be some purple unicorn.
• sugarr hound • that does make sense, the contrast of pastel colors and cute fluffy ponies does seem to amplify the gore/horror. Kinda like a cushion so that you can get across the gore but not horrifying the viewer so much they don’t wanna look at the intricate details.
I've seen some people say it's a way for artists to imagine how the characters would act if they were to be in these scenarios, which I thought was an interesting way of looking at it
