I can highly recommend this model, even if you don't model O gauge, this loco has got a lot of people into O Gauge, me included! You can pick one up for £191, and compared to OO prices, you will not be disappointed!

I use to work these in collieries in Nottinghamshire in the 70s sometimes doubled up, Good times.

Nice model from Dapol in my opinion.
Great review, I have one in BR Triple grey and it makes the same whining noise and have tried multiple ways to lubricate the gears and fly wheel to stop it but without luck
Yeah I think it's the motor itself, I don't think it's the best quality of motors, but does the job at a very fair price, I will be after a 2nd 08 to pair with this one. Thank you so much for watching and commenting 👍 stay safe buddy

The cream livery was intercity executive livery and was applied to both locos and coaches and then they decided it looked a bit dull and started replacing the cream with white which was called intercity swallow to both locos and some coaches. So you ended up with a mixture.

That white/cream thing looks a right mess on the electras class 91s too... where you get both colours on the one loco
