If you ask me, the reason why the Coyo-, I mean….the Utah Hockey club, is playing so well is because of one thing: Stability.
They now have a stable owner, an arena with NHL filling level to play in (sure it wasn’t exactly prepared for them but better than nothing) and a fanbase that’s excited to have them.
They didn’t really have all that when they were in Arizona so as a player, they gotta be thinking “this is a team I want to play for.”
And Utah is a very beautiful state. Greetings from Russia, Moscow.
It’s early. Teams start off hot sometimes then fizzle out. Utah definitely has speed and an attacking system. Reliable Goaltending is the difference usually. I’m happiest for the players on this roster who had to go through such BS these last few years.

These last few home opener games have been INSANE. This one, had to be my favorite by far. Best of luck to Utah and its fans this season from a Bruins fan!

Fellow Bruins fan, Coyotes were my favorite in the Central so it's great to see Utah off to a strong start!

As a ranger fan, Utah is looking scary to start off the year, even if the rangers defense was not good. Was a great game though
Completely agree. We trailed behind, but managed go into OT. This was a great game!! Utah HC reminds me of the 2014-2015 Bruins.

@@GOCAPSDMV No, the franchise did not relocate lol. The Coyotes franchise is separate from the Utah franchise. Only the rosters are the same. Utah is an expansion team, therefore they are not a relocation team. For example, Utah will not be able to use Coyotes throwback jerseys because they do not own them. The Canes or the Avs can use the whaler or nordique logo on throwback jerseys, because they were relocated, but remained the same franchise. Google it.
@@GOCAPSDMV They are more similar to the Knights technically. They are an expansion team. It was not a relocation. The Coyotes franchise sold all of their player assets to a completely different organization in the Utah HC. The Avs and the Canes are the same franchises as when they were called the Nordiques and Whalers. Utah is not the same franchise as the Coyotes. The Coyotes franchise is planning on bringing the Coyotes back in a few years when they have a new arena, obviously with a completely new roster.

The New Team Is Coming With A Good streak
You gotta give it to Utah HC, a team people expected to not do much. 3 games in and they’re already making a name for themselves. They’re everything the original Arizona coyotes were supposed to be but hardly were. Rangers got their point it’s a win win. Keep it up Utah the best is yet to come

3rd game in a row, where everyone’s saying the defense sucked against the UHC. How many more times do they have to do this, until everyone admits they now have a top 10, potentially top 5 offense in the league? Their top 2 lines are both solid first lines on any other team, and even that 3rd line seems to be a solid 2nd line on most teams. Hell, even the 4th line was getting on the scoreboard this game after threatening to score in the first two, and it seems like they’ll easily be one of the more productive 4th lines in the league. They’ve been moving the puck better than anyone in the league in their offensive zone so far this year, and they’re definitely up there in transition offense as well. It’s not just bad defense, when it’s really, really good offense. In fact their defense and their ability to give up high scoring chances, is the only thing holding them back from being a real competitor imo.

What the hell was this game. Rangers looked very sloppy many mistakes. Utah keeps looking pretty good though excited to see where this season takes them.

There should be an option to listen to these highlights with no commentary and no crowd noise. Just the sounds of the rink. Watched a highlight package the other night that had no commentary for the first few minutes. So good. Can’t stand most commentators but if the volume is off, no rink sounds. I know the tech exists. Come on!

w recent expansion success im thinking a team of 12 2-3 liner talent (top 6-9) are the guys fightint to stay up or to get top mins, thats who makes up the NEW exp teams like VEG/SEA/now UTH - maybe its a sign that consistency top to bottom can compete with top heavy teams that arent consistenet on the bottom 6....
Utah isn't an expansion team, they're a relocation. They have been built through several years of drafting, trades and development, not thrown together like Vegas or Seattle

What a game! That bounce off the boards/stansion (whatever it's called? haha) was brutal luck. You could give a guy 1,000 pucks in practice and he couldn't replicate that. Makes up for that weak sauce goaltender interference call though -- taking a good goal back like that could disrupt an entire game later in the season and become a bigger storyline in a 2-1 game.
And OOF -- seeing Dylan Guenther light it up when Canucks fans/management were too impatient and just HAD to trade their 10th overall pick to escape the final year of Loui Eriksson and Jay Beagle, just OOF. Utah looks great though :)

Great game by Utah. The 2nd fight rule is stupid and needs to be abolished. It allows loser players to start fights with important players in hopes of getting them kicked out. McBain instigated his fight with Edstrom. It should automatically be reviewed to see if there was an instigator and then toss that guy (Actually don't toss anyone.... it's hockey). You have to let guys defend themselves and they shouldn't be punished for it.
