- We caught TWO of these ‘rejected landings’ today! Both BA CEO 320’s.
Here’s some shpeel I borrowed from the good folks at Wikipedia….
Both a touch-and-go landing and a low pass are types of go-around. An unplanned touch-and-go landing is also called a "rejected landing" or "balked landing".
Touch-and-go landings can perform a crucial safety role when a plane lands with not enough space to come to a complete stop, but has enough space to accelerate and take off again.
Pilots give us your thoughts and passengers, have you ever experienced this? We had a few people on the show today talking about some crazy experiences!

I was watching that live. It was a 😳 moment lol
I was on an Air Canada 787-9 to Calgary that day which took off from LHR T2 around 2pm and it was a very turbulent to say the least. Overhead lockers rattling and swaying. Last time I experienced that was flying out of Hong Kong about 12 years ago
That must of been a panic to everyone on board. My nerves would of been shattered.

Same as in storm ciara couple of years back, none of the touchdowns were firm enough to trigger the "WoW"-switches releasing spoilers and reverse thrust.
My landing early evening was thankfully a lot smoother, and definitely a first timer. :)

@@infinite2246 There's more to the 320 logic than that though. I'd guess they still had the thrust levers in the CLB detent as they didn't even partially deploy.

Good job to the pilot but also the cameraman repeating "easy". This meant the pilots were able to perform their actions safely so well done to the camera man! 👍👍
