  • Austin pediatrician and Texas Medical Association (TMA) physician leader Arathi Shah, MD, treated serious, complicated mumps patients in India. She has seen mumps cases in Texas as well. She describes this infection which is caused by a virus, and talks about what can happen to you if you catch the disease.
This release is part of a monthly TMA series highlighting contagious diseases that childhood and adult vaccinations can prevent. Some diseases covered thus far include Measles, Rubella, Rotavirus and Polio.
