  • In this episode, UCLA Sports and Behavioral Neurologist Dr. Kevin Bickart joins Adel for a discussion on the Autonomic Nervous System and how it is affected by and contributes to Concussions and persistent post-concussion symptoms.
The two discuss the structures that could be dysfunctional causing Autonomic Nervous System dysfunction, and the objective measures of the autonomic nervous system that can be altered following a concussion, such as Heart Rate Variability (HRV) and Cerebrovascular Reactivity (CVR).

Thanks for doing this video. I’ve been trying to get treatment for a concussion for the last couple years to no avail. I started finding my symptoms also in the dysautonomia category in my search for a solution to my health issues. The most valuable take away from this vid is the idea about testing post concussive patients for prognosis of autonomic dysfunction. I began wearing an Apple Watch and it was obvious that my HRV was low and along with a number of other easily verifiable markers like high BPM from supine to stand etc.. that could have screened me for dysautonomia earlier. Very worthwhile topic for research in this area!

Omg. OF COURSE there is a link between concussion and POTS.🤦🏻‍♀️ my son NEVER would have had POTS otherwise. Healthy 💯 before this tbi that IS a whole body injury.

To be honest I invested as low as $1,000 because I was skeptical initially. Receiving my profit gave me more confidence to reinvest higher.
